The general feeling, as far as I understand it, is that taking another's life can be justified in the sight of God. Defense of family is just one common example. But think of all the people who are employed in law enforcement, the military, and private security, where they might be called upon to kill a person while doing their job.

I'm sure that, should someone be forced to take another's life, with no options available other than the use of deadly force, God would understand. Jesus Himself told the people to do their jobs, but not take advantage of their employment to harm others.

You misunderstand the meaning of sin.....

Sin is to miss the target.... as if you were shooting an arrow and the target was perfection....(to be like God)

Anything short of the target is sin....
