okay, I'm really bored so i was going through my son's baby book and I stopped at his first words. It's funny now that i look back. So my ? is, what was your childs firsts words?
We were in Arizona when Reed's pappy taught him his first word. It was ah-oh, not sure of the spelling, but you know when a child drops something and you say ah-oh. Well That was my son's first word, then came da -da, mumma. yum, kit kit ( for the kitty) those are only some.

My daughters first word was baby then mamma.
My son's first word was Uh-Oh followed by mamma.

My son's (now 3 1/2) first word was "ball". I don't remember what was next I do remeber he really didn't start talking till around 2.

My Daughter's (now 14 months) was "Up". She also now says Hi, bye-bye Mama, Dada and Eat. And her favorite thing to do is talk on the phone.

My daughter's was Bob. It took me forever to find out who Bob was until I realized that she said that every time she wanted me to breastfeed her, so I guess it wasn't Bob after all. Other than that it was Mama and Dada.

My son's first word was Mama and Dada follwed my Ah Man from Dora the Explorer

My daughter (now 12) said Da-da first, followed by a lot of B words--bye, ball, ba-ba, boo, bankie.

My son(9) said Da-da, up, me, and mamma.
At about age 2 my son used to say E-I-E-I-O alot when we were driving in the car. Took us about 2 weeks to figure out it only happened when he was hungry and saw a sign for MacDonald's. <G>

My daughter said 'da', 'mama', and 'odie'. lol We used to get a good laugh out of the last one, as she's never seen Garfield or anything.

*big laugh* that sounds so familiar. When our 1st son was about 18 months he would say totallies for getting nursed. We later figured it out because when it was bathtime we called the kids "totally naked babies" so he thought that the milk came from totallies. Our baby said dada and mama first then nana-banana, yayo-yogurt, and keee-kitty, he keeps adding things but haven't figured them out yet.
