Kept through faith….

1 Peter 1:5 (NKJV)
who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

What is this being kept through faith that this scripture is addressing…?

It would be, being kept from the doings of unrighteousness, for we are not kept in our sins, but kept from our sins, for if one is not being kept from their sins, that one is not being kept by the power of God being brought forth by that one’s faith…..

For faith in the power of God actively working in one’s life is the only thing that can keep one from the doings of unrighteousness…. For we are saved to something, and that something is the doing of righteousness…. For this is the will of God in everyone’s life, that righteousness would be manifested in all of one’s doings….

Seeing it is only the faith of the believer that can accomplish this task, for faith in the power of God actively working in one’s life is the salvation offered in Christ….. For this is what we are called to, to actively believe in the power of God to keep us from all unrighteousness….

For the issue being; does the believer want to be freed from all unrighteousness or just certain sins at certain times, not hating sin so much that they would willingly enter into death to be freed from all of them… But when a believer, any believer would willingly enter into their death in Christ to be freed from any and all sins at any and every moment of time, that one will be kept by the power of God according to that one’s faith….

For experiencing this new life spoken of in scripture is found in the doing of righteousness in the time of this life….. For when one walks in all the righteousness that one sees, that one is walking in the will of God to that degree, and that one, is being kept by the joy and the peace of Christ’s life growing and being manifested in and through that one as that one’s very new life….. For this being the new birth coming to life, which can only be brought to life by faith in the power of God brought forth by the believer’s faith in their death and resurrection with Christ….

Oh to the increasing of that faith, that the new life might be brought forth….

Or kept as christ’s , as righteous, doing good works, kept as we are in Christ and doing well, kept for the faith, no dissipation. Kept for Gods purpose, intact, whole and complete.

Other kepts, but saying the same thing basically. It is not some magical thing that we don’t sin, resisting temptation is still necessary but it gets easier. Some people really have to fight when they have addictions. But I think it’s kept for Christ, being keepers. I will keep you and you and you, helped by God and scripture. Kept by God and scripture.

Too many people falling away for me to think it’s invincible . Still only few will find the narrow way. But God does work in the way you are suggesting imo. But is it a 50-50 way does God do half or more. We have to persevere in trials and temptations. I am just pushing on empowered by God.

But you right He does keep us from sin by His Spirit and conscience…. Just x pounding on your scripture a little bit more. I was seeing other ‘kepts’. But you are definitely right.

yes we talked about that scripture before. There must be a whole lot of Christian’s who have become on the rocky and thorn soils to not have this ‘kept’ you are speaking of. Of which you are speaking @Notme . I do see it in the the few though. Isn’t God always narrowing down His flock!? those who do not believe fall away. but those who persevere have this protection you state. The keeping and the freedom. Very good outlook.

Totally agree. A few things I bear in mind that gives great comfort, in regards to both sanctification and keeping the faith:

Phillipians 1:3-6 NIV

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

This to me is a declaration made by the Holy Spirit - that it is HE who initiates the good work in us, and HE who WILL carry it on to COMPLETION.

As to keeping the faith, He likewise makes this declaration:

Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Our part in this race is to run. It is His work, as the Author, to first gift us with said faith, provide the endurance to keep the faith, and grow our faith all the way to completion as Finisher.

Why then does Paul say this, as his end here was drawing near?

2 Timothy 4:6-8 NIV

"For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

Is Paul taking credit for fighting, finishing, and keeping the faith, upon himself? No, just the opposite, because he reveals elsewhere the secret for achieving those ends:

Galatians 2:20 NIV

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Our part in running this race, then, is simply to daily remain in submission to our Bridegroom, Who Himself has made His grace covenant with us - and will NOT break it. There is our confidence.

This being kept that scripture is speaking of is only the being kept that comes through faith by the power of God… All other being kept regardless of how outwardly successful it might seem to be, is still a work of self… For only that which comes through faith has God’s smile on it, for it being Christ’s life coming to life….

For all believers are kept to salvation, it is a matter of how much keeping one experiences in the ever present now, which can only be accessed by the believer’s faith….
