It saddens me to tell you that Kenneth E. Hagin has gone on to be with the Lord, at the age of 86/7.
I just heard the news tonight from my Pastor, who heard it from the principal of the Rhema Bible school in Singapore.
This is how he went (as much as I can remember): He was having breakfast with his wife and another couple who are about his age, very close friends. They were having a good time. Then, he turned to his wife, his face glowing and full of peace, gave out a deep breath, and then his head just rested on his shoulder. His wife, then said something like, "There goes my darling." Doctors did examine him later but found nothing wrong with him physically.
While I am sad, for now, I am also happy that he is finally with the Lord, at a better place and more alive than ever. Praise God. I guess he has finished his race, fought the good fight of faith, and its time for him to depart.
Kenneth Hagin will always be dear to me. While I have never met the man of God, I cut my spiritual teeth on his books, learned about faith, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, from his books. I will always be indebted to him in a sense. May his tribe increase.
Never did anyone guess that a child born premature and with a heart disease and given up to die, paralysed and bed-ridden at age 17 wld outlive all those around him, who saw his hopeless condition. But that is God's way -- using the weak to confound the wise.
He was raised to prepare the end-time generation, and now that he has finished his work, and left so much revelation for the church, we can be assured that Christ is really coming back soon.
God bless
ps: I know there are some conflicting reports, rumours etc. The website (http://www.rhema.org/update.cfm) seems to tell a rather different story, saying he is in "critical condition" in the hospital but "stable". But for now, I will take my Pastor at his word since the website's report is one day earlier.
