Kenneth Copeland and the Masons

Hi!

I love the ministry of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and I respect them both deeply - but a couple of people have been telling me recently that Kenneth Copeland is a Mason and should be avoided....I'm not sure how bothered I should be by this (knowing very little about the Masons)...and knowing these people who are criticising the Copelands are not WOF and may therefore have another agenda - so I'm not sure whether the allegations are even true - or how you would ever find out.

But it is playing on my mind - so I thought I would ask what you think? I don't want to think bad of the Copelands so I am really looking for some positive things to put my mind at rest and would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

~ Why not write or call Kenneth Copeland and ask if he is a mason?
~ At the same time, it is interesting that soo many calvinist and southern baptists are masons.
~ The anti-Word/anti-Faith, extreme fundamentalist KJVO cults seems to think that just the claim of anyone being a mason makes them automatically evil. No matter if the person is a mason, they seem to believe that masons are the root of all dark new age conspiracies that are going to succeed in taking over the world. The fact that fear is their driving force should tell you which spirit they follow.

Yeah - I was going to write - but if the guy is a secret Mason he will never tell me anyway!! I just kind of wanted to have my mind put at rest...but I think I have worked it out for myself anyway....

Frankly I don't need to worry - I don't have to answer for him to God - therefore it is not my business. I do find him helpful - and I do find he helps my walk with God - and for now, that is enough and I'm grateful to Kenneth Copeland for his ministry. Besides - he places a lot of emphasis on Jesus and I don't think you would do that as Mason - would you? They believe in 'god' as a general term I thought...but as I said earlier - could be wrong, I don't know that much about them - and probably never will.

After doing a Google search, it seems very likely that the reports of Kenneth Copeland being a Mason are false rumors meant to scandalize him. There is quite a bit of material on the web, but much of it is repetition of one or two original writings. Those are based on assumptions that things he has said are part of Masonic ritual. They don't seem to consider the fact that Masonic ritual may be a perversion of Scripture.

It looks like the folks who spread the rumor are people who would brand Copeland as a heretic even if he was not a Mason. I saw nothing I would consider credible. Some of what I read was not just a slam against Copeland or faith people, but against Christianity in general.
I don't buy it.

Thanks so much for looking into it Wigglesworth - and yes I think I agree. As it was pointed out to me by people I know I found it a little unsettling when I heard - but with reflection I don't believe it either.

I try to avoid all the chatter and banter against people and just read what they have to say.

I decide for myself. I noticed that If I get caught up in the blabberings of heretic hunters it just hurts my faith and walk with God in the long run.

I'm not sure why people think thier mission on earth is to destroy others reputations.

None the less I would just ignore it.

Yeah - you are right. It is the perfect criticism isn't it? Because it doesn't attack what the man says - it attacks the man - and in such a way that he can never defend himself, or 100% refute the allegations.....so it is designed to make you doubt him - and doubt can just grow with a life of its own if you are not careful.

Well... that's the problem when you're a preacher of great prominence... it attracts all sorts of comments.... like for example, my fiancee's mom's friend told her mom that my pastor (of largely growing church of 12000 people) drives a porsche or some fancy sports car, that he's being paid some ridiculous amount by the church... we're like.. HUH?

but anyway, I guess our spirit could very well confirm what is being said out there... You know it's not right when you don't have the peace when you hear it...

Btw, KCM is coming to Singapore and I'm serving in his ministry meetings! How exciting!

Yes, but the problem is that if you are relatively new/open to things like WOF and Kenneth Copeland then the heretic hunters et al can be very, very disturbing - and scare you from going further - they plant doubt in the mind....and exactly because preachers like Copeland and Creflo Dollar and others preach a gospel that is different and radical in comparison to what you hear from most pulpits - you do want to check it out - so you do put the names into Google and ask around - and generally you just get criticism....so it is hard for people. I'm not American - maybe it is easier in the US - but here the WOF preachers are not generally respected - or trusted. We maybe need more websites and things that defend the balanced teaching of WOF - rather than exposing the extreme elements....so that people who are just exploring do not run before they have time to consider the message.

Just a thought.

I personally believe that the reason it is slammed so much by everyone is because it is the real truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.......and who else would the devil want to shut down, except something that causes him harm? Eh? So he will use anybodys mouth that he can to bring harm to the truth! Even other Christians!

The questions are asked,thats when you answer them...who would know ,but those that have been there,right? Don't get upset at people that have been decieved and want to shed some light where there is darkness...........why would anyone want to be blinded from the truth that exists? HeartofHeaven are you still Word of Faith? Or do you think of it more as your past now? I'm not completely sure what you mean about 'seeing the light' - I might be being dense - but if you could clarify for me - I think it would help me understand the context of your posts - many thanks!
