• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay -- we have a request from Katydid :) So I thought it might be good to start a new thread where everyone who wishes to may add their fav links, info, recommendations, personal practices... etc.

Here is Katydid's specific post requesting info, so we can reference it easily:

How do we know how to celebrate that Feasts? What do we do, on our own for Passover, for Pentecost, for Sukkot (especially considering we live in military housing in an apartment), you know, what do we do? Is there a manual for that. Also, I am hypoglycemic, I cannot miss a single meal or I get woozy and if I go too long, I pass out, so how do I fast. At what ages do the children start fasting? How do we know when the feasts are according to the Biblical calendar, is there a calendar we can buy for that?

First thing I have to offer is:

Aish.com does a fab job of discussing the feasts, has a calendar, etc.

http://search.aish.com/holidays/default.asp?s=g&k=jewishholidays

If you have children (and even in you don't ;) ) check out Torah Tots -- wonderful and fun!
Their feasts section is linked below:

http://www.torahtots.com/fungames.htm

And they have a feasts claendar for those of us in the diaspora (not in the Land of Israel)
that you can print off:

http://www.torahtots.com/holidays/diaspcal.htm

I'm looking through old posts here on some of the major feasts, to link those threads for you here...

Also, Hen has mentioned the book "God's Appointed Times" I think it is. We have it too -- it was the first thing we bought on the feasts/festivals of the Bible, and it was a great help to us.

You can find it here:

http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/157150741?item_no=226545&netp_id=200218&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW

and there's another one called God's Appointed Customs. I don't have that one... but thought I would mention it.

From a Messianic/Christian perspective which might be a better source for your husband to accept http://biblicalholidays.com/

This site includes history, ideas, crafts, activities, articles, links, a list group, and tons of information about our Hebraic heritage. I like to think of it as the information source for the Bible holidays. God told his people to set apart special days including Sabbath, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah), the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and Tabernacles (Succoth). The are two other holidays mentioned in the Bible, Hanukkah (Chanukah or the Feast of Dedication) and Purim. These Feasts days or Sabbaths are a beautiful picture of the Messiah's first and second coming!
It also has a book that can help get you started and many reviews about it. Also you can download a FREE preview of it , this you might want to show to your husband. This site shows Y'shua in all these things as the Jewish sites will not. After you have accepted and practiced these you may want to take on Jewish customs and traditions for celebrating.

Zayit and I both seem to have a penchant for searches, so I'm sure we two will keep adding more as we go,... erm, I will at least... and I know Zayit is like my other half on this forum.

*Zemmy goes searching for her TorahLover hubby. (thinks...) :( He's out on a wildfire... so... Zayit will have to be my partner in "crime" for a while*

And I know others have good links to add too... *whistles innocently* :holy:
