  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why is it that you can tell someone something, and they don't remember it the next minute?

Stony ground, deaf ears, hard hearts, cares of the world, and Satan who steals away the word. Jesus explained this particular situation in Mark Chapter Four...the parable of the sower.

Yesterday, I preached a funeral for a 59 year old man. As I preached, I could see some faces that were receiving the word of the Lord. I could also see some "stony" looking faces, and some looks of disdain. It sure is a discouraging task, at times, to sow the seeds of God, and to see hardly any results.

One person in particular hardly remembers what you preached..the word was snatched away by the enemy.

However, it's worth all the labor of sowing if just one person's life is changed.

Keep on sowing...your labor is not in vain, and you will reap a harvest after awhile.

Oh mate, there are more wayside, stony, and thorny Christians than 30-fold, 60-fold, and 100-fold.

Yes, it's hard at the coal-face!

Blessings.

I see a whole lot of JUDGEMENT here. What did you expect? For them to jump up and down? Just how do you know what was received?

Maybe the word you spoke was not needed by them? We all digest GOD'S WORD as GOD allows us to. GOD'S WORD was written for everyone in all walks of life.

You assume way to much as many other folks do:

You can take a candle, place it in the center of the room and light it. ( JESUS ) Then get 4 souls and place each one against each one of the 4 walls. You SHALL find that each soul has to walk in a separate direction to get to the LIGHT ( JESUS ) Yet there is BUT one way to the LIGHT. The other ways are almost infinite, EXCEPT for ONE.

Now do you still ASSUME your way is the ONLY WAY. Let' leave JUDGEMENT up to GOD. You have your hands full with sowing or reaping.

Don't you know the sower seldom if ever sees the harvest?

If you are going to be part of the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD you MUST GIVE IT ALL TO GOD.

GOD demands that you give HIM your WHOLE heart, mind, strength, and soul. That means you go in prayer and tell GOD that you will do this and from that moment on seek GOD in all your decisions. After this is complete GOD will know. For HE searches the heart. HE will then send HIS HOLY SPIRIT ( ANOINTED-BORN AGAIN- SAVED ). For it is then that you shall receive the MISSION GOD has for just you and supply all your needs, even what you have not the ability to have.

Pick up GOD'S ROAD MAP to the KINGDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD ( BIBLE ) and start reading the NEW TESTIMENT till the next time you read it you will already know what IT'S going to say. For then it's locked in your heart to draw from for the rest of your life. You will NEVER be sorry you did.

GOD does not want babes in CHRIST to stay babes in CHRIST. We must mature if we are to be ANOINTED and receive the REAL FOOD.

Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and Start right now!!!

LOVE

"Maybe the word you spoke was not needed by them? We all digest GOD'S WORD as GOD allows us to. GOD'S WORD was written for everyone in all walks of life."

Well, all I can say is that the Lord gave me the words to speak...else I would not have been there.

I was not being judgmental in my statements...I was just stating a truth. In my over twenty years of preaching...in churches, radio, street corners, nursing homes, and much one on one, I have seen some reject, and some eagerly receive the good news.

I particulary remember that 65 year old man I went to see on a Tuesday. The Lord spoke to me, and instructed me to go see him. His wife had been praying for him for years. I went to his house, knocked on the door, he answered and asked "What are you doing here?" I replied, "I came to pray for you." He tried to change the subject, the Holy Spirit came on me, I looked at him and said, "Get your affairs in order, you are about to die." He then let me pray for him.

As I prayed, I asked the Lord to reveal His great love to this man, and to answer the prayers of his wife. Right there, in his living room, in his easy chair, Jesus came into his heart. He began to weep for joy.

Wednesday, he got sick, Saturday he died...four days after the Lord saved him. I went to the house Sunday, one of his sons hugged me, and said "You are the one who came and prayed for my Daddy...he told us Jesus saved him. Thank you."

So you see, sir, that I'm not a "baby" in Christ. I realize that hell is real, and many are heading that way...the day of salvation is today.

What a touching story!!

It's hard when you realize that God isn't working in everyone's life, and a good portion of people are going to reject the gospel. All you can do is what the Holy Spirit puts in your heart to do at the time.

I'm a supporter of Ligonier Ministries [Dr. RC Sproul] and remember in one letter how he stated that he hoped God would use their ministry in the lives of 'those whose hearts He had prepared.' That's what has to happen--God has to open their mind through the Holy Spirit to be able to understand His truth as it's foolishness to unregenerate men.

We attended a funeral of a man at my church whom my hubby used to work for. I didn't know him well but there wasn't ONE word mentioned that he believed in Christ, held to what was being preached [the gospel] during the funeral and the like. I have the feeling the pastor didn't mention it because the man probably didn't believe. Very sad....

Romans 8 verse 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Romans 10 verse 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, AND BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!"

Yes, I preached the words the Lord gave me...I don't preach for money (I'm not a pastor, just a servant of the Lord who preaches wherever the Lord sends me).

Thank you for calling me a liar because I know I have a great reward in heaven (Matthew 5 verses 11, 12).

It is true that there were Christians at the funeral...I saw them eagerly hearing and receiving the word of God. It is also true that there some there were not Christians. One got up, spoke, and even cussed (Matthew 7 verses 16-20), and did not speak about Jesus.

Kinda reminds me of that Mother's day Sunday when the Lord sent me to a local cemetery. I went. He directed me to stand by a little baby's grave (I didn't know whose baby it was). After 30 minutes of waiting, a car drove up, a woman got out, came to the baby's grave where I was standing. It was her baby and she was missing her child. I then recognized the 42 year old woman as a former school classmate. She began to tell me all of her troubles, family troubles, financial troubles, health troubles...During this time, I listened, and then I said, "May I pray for you?" She said, "Yes". I prayed that the Lord would reveal His great love to her, and heal the strife in her life. As I prayed, I felt an overwhelming presence of the Holy Ghost, and then a great peace that passes all understanding. Then my spirit bear witness with her spirit that she indeed had become a child of the king.

I gave her some money, and she said she would repay me some day. Three short weeks later, she was brutally murdered. I spoke at her funeral, and relayed what had happened at the cemetery. One month later, her sister called me, and asked if I would come preach to her family at her parents' home. I did, the whole family was gathered there. Shortly after, her daddy died, her 50 year old brother had a heart attack and died, and her 21 year old niece was killed in a car accident.

1 John 4 verses 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

I found nothing judgmental about your post, if anything it was the TRUTH, it is true that satan does steal away the Word of God
