I had a dream that my mom was still alive but she was divorced from my dad and that she had married Keanu Reeves. And Mr. Reeves gave me a whole bunch of movies to watch. One of them was Gattaca and one was Soylent Green... I find it interesting that Mr. Reeves wasn't in either of those movies...

In the future discrimination is based on genetics, not race or class. Parents see geneticist to filter out undesirable traits in their children. Vincent's parents decided to go trust mother nature and concieve naturally. Vincent is seen as genetically inferior and is doomed to a life of servitude. His parents have a second child and choose to consult a geneticist. this child is his parents pride and joy. Vincent is treated as if he's fragile and will die any moment.
Vincent dreams of going into space but he is seen as unfit. He finally gets the courage to go out on his own when he beats his "genetically superior" brother in a swim race.

He decides to use one of the genetically elites identities to get into the space program. It's a complex procedure, in which he uses the donors body fluids to fool gene testing machines. He is set for a flight when the director of the program is murdered.

While the investigators are working Vincent loses an eyelash leaving his DNA. The murder investigation focuses on him. The detective is sure that Vincent is the guilty party. It becomes harder for him to diguise himself.

I Googled Keanu Reeves Religion Politics because I figured there was a reason your dream had him in there and it took me to the film trilogy, The Matrix:

The Matrix Revolutions plot summary

This film starts directly after the second one. Neo is stuck in "limbo" between the matrix and the real world. The only one who can get him out is the Meriovigian. Morpheus and Trinity visit The Oracle, who looks entirely different. She had to change her body after being punished by the Meriovigian for helping Neo. She tells them that the Meriovigian can help them so Morpheus, Trinity and Seraph go to the club where Persephone and her husband are. After some dealing, they are delivered to Neo.

While the crew of the Neb, Hammer, and the Logos talk strategy, Bane wakes up. He remembers nothing and talks in nonsense. Neo announces that he must take a ship to go to the machine world. Niobe lets Neo take the Logos. The doctor is fixing Bane when he kills her and takes refuge on the Logos. Trinity decides to go with Neo, telling him that she would do anything for him. As Neo and Trinity prepare to take off, the ship wont start. Trinity goes to the engine room to fix it, but is attacked by Bane aka Agent Smith. Neo comes to the rescue, but is electrocuted by Bane in the eyes, therefore blinding him. Neo now sees mostly everything in an orange light.

In the Matrix, Agent Smith pays a visit to the Oracle. He calls her "mom", therefore telling us that he is the product of a program made from the Oracle He then infects her, creating a Super Agent Smith. Meanwhile in Zion, the sentinels break through the walls and begin drilling. Morpheus, Link, and the crew from the Hammer and Logos take the Hammer to foil the sentinels. The plan fails and they decided to go through Gate 3 into Zion to use their EMP.

Captain Mahoney who was in charge of opening Gate 3 is killed, but The Kid saves the day, with the help of Link's wife, Zee. The Hammer uses the EMP, but Commander Lock is furious, due to the fact that the EMP blew out nearly all of Zion's resources. As Zion prepares for the final showdown, Trinity and Neo reach the machine city. They are attacked by senitels, and Neo cannot stop them all. They take the Logos all the way up through the sky, seeing blue sky for the first time.

However the ship crashes, and Trinity dies after being impaled by poles. Neo makes his way to the Source and makes a deal: the death of Smith for the end of the war. Neo defeats Smith and the war ends. Neois taken away by machines, perhaps for his coding to be reinserted into the matrix? We never truly find out if he is dead or not. The Architect tells the Oracle that he will allowed more minds to be freed, and he doubts the peace will last, because the machines were never truly defeated. The oracle says she obtained her knowledge because she believed in everyone. The movie ends with a shot of the sun in the sky in the Matrix.

So, the other question is, what do these two movies and Keanu Reeves (& possibly Matrix) have as a common denominator and what can we gain from it that would be applicable to your life or our lives?

...and sadly, even Keanu can't save us.

Keanu, in his movies seems to approach dangers with curiosity and natural fear or distinct fearlessness... he outsmarts but not without the risk of failing. There's a tenuous risk of things not working (compare to Tom Cruise, Arnold, Chuck Norris). You can relate to his concerns.

The abrupt concept of the divorce might have just represented a shaking up of what you know to be true and stable... going along with change and seeing the good in it.

I think it highly possible that the message here might be that what was once considered 'science fiction' is more of a reality than we might expect. I read recently where the USA government has 800 concentration camps in the USA fully manned and ready to be used in case of a national emergency and the use of martial law. Each of these 800 concentration camps can house up to 20,000 people. What do you suppose our government is up to?

The connection between the Matrix, Soylent Green, and Gattaca is that the value of human life in these movies is almost nil.

In the Matrix, people are used as batteries for the machines. In Soylent Green, there are so many people that there's no chance of having a voice. Also, women are used as "furniture" for apartments. If a riot breaks out, bulldozers come and scoop them up. And, of course, the main thing in Soylent Green is that the only affordable food available is made from dead people. In Gattaca, those that are naturally born are treated like animals and those that are "made" are treated like kings.
