I'm not really a fan of hip-hop and am not that familiar with a lot of the artists who make it. But some bandmates recently got me to listen to Yeezus and I'm kinda amazed. Lyrically it seems offensive, vulgar, and like Kanye phoned it in and didn't even try. But musically this album is brilliant. Most hip-hop strikes me as formulaic but this stuff is beautiful and insane at times, and there's an amazing aggression to it.

I'm really interested in seeing where we can go musically with this. We've been kinda playing that new wave thing that's been in vogue lately and that's a lot of fun for us, but I'm actually really excited about trying our best to do something like Yeezus. We know that we can't rap and we know that we can't dance, at least we know. But this is giving me a ton of ideas that I haven't heard tried before.

What do you think of Kanye.

Personally, Kanye West is one of my favorite artists. He makes great music for the most part. Yeezus was his worst album IMO, and it was too blaspahemous for me but I will give him the fact that he does try different things in his production in every album he records.

That really doesn't matter to me. I don't want to hear your whole life story. I don't want a bunch of smoke and glory. I just want musical creativity. For me Kanye is really delivering.

I hadn't put an ear to Kanye's new album yet, but was he really talking about "gang life" on the album???

Also, I can't believe I am about to say this, but, in drakes defense, I do t think him saying started from the bottom actually meant he was the poorest, the uncoolest, and anything else that is opposite from "the top"... In the song he expressed how he worked a regular job. If that's not your dream job, then I honk I would consider that the bottom too lol

I like some of his stuff (Black Skinhead is my recent favorite), but I can't call myself a fan due to his attitude. He is a complete jerk from what I have seen. That said he is talented. But you know what, it all boils down to your taste in music.

Okay. I used to love his music his first 3 albums were great.

Songs like Gold Digger, Nothing Lasts Forever, Jesus Walks..Stuff like that ya know. I'm not big on rap. But, I loved those songs.

Then, Kanye started acting weird. Like he believes that he's Christ, etc. Yeezus? Really? That is some blasphemous stuff.

I'll listen to his old stuff still. But, he's changed. Musically and personally for the worst. IMO.
