Don't get me wrong I'm not dissin Jesus Walks, I think its a decent song...I just think Mr. West's comments should have been saved for a better time than Katrina fundraiser...

i don't agree that GWB is a racist.i believe that people just want someone to blame for what happened,especially if you don't have God to lean on in a bad time like hurricane Katrina,you need someone to blame,to let your anger out on.since he's the president blaming him is just easyest.but thats just my opinion on the issue.

hmm...Well this is what I think...whether it matters or not.


But basically, you gotta take history into context.
Do I believe Bush hates blacks? No. Besides, I already said I completely disagreed that Kanye would speak out about something like that at a fundraiser. I was also upset when I heard about it (but I still do like some of his music...).
Do I think the govt plotted anything? Well I don't have an answer, cause well...anything could be true so I'm not siding with anyone.

However, what happened in NO is just the "consquence" (or result) of years and years of discrimination. If you think our history doesn't affect us today, you are sorely wrong.
A huge % of the casualties were black...and couldn't get out for various reasons (transportation, handicaps, and so on). And it's a chain of events that put them there (being lower-class, lack of resources...). So why shouldn't they be allowed to be upset?

Yet again, I'm not saying this is only about race. I don't think it's only Bush's fault. I'm just saying that ya...race is involved in some way or another. So to argue when those blacks are upset wouldn't be right either.

Atleast with Eminem and stuff, people know they are worshipping satan and his doing... but Kanye West... sorry but he's talking about garbage in his other music and one song makes him Christian? I don't know personally, he may be a great person, but I don't support his music at all, nor do I support (purchase or listen) any secular music. Isn't Jessica Simpson a christian? Isn't she also washing a car with her private body parts too in her latest video? Or Beyonce... Christian? Don't be naively misled by someone who claims to know the truth but really doesn't. and 1 John 1:6, 8--"If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie .... If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." and also Luke 6:46--Jesus said to the multitudes, "Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" John encouraged his readers to "test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1; NIV).

Leaves us with one thing to do.... prayer! Pray for Kanye West and his heart... to fully seek after God and pray that he's not doing a Christian song because that's where the money is in entertainment.

I agree.

Kanye West uses his fame for his own advantage. As an artist I'm sure he's likeable, but as a politician he is very selfish.

It annoys me that people with fame and fortune think they have some right to rule the world, and that their words are just that much more important.

The bible says that God knows our hearts, I'm not assuming that was a sarcastic comment, but we all need to seek after God withour hearts. There's a difference between knowing it in our heads, vs. knowing it in our hearts. And like I said already, God knows our hearts is what the bible says.

I've never heard "Jesus Walks". But I have heard his new song "Gold Digger", which was terrible.
