  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Many Christians believe that the Kabbalah is an entirely Satanic and new age philosophy. But it is actually a form of advanced Judaism and requires extensive knowledge of the bible ~ especially of the old testament.

It is not recommended for those under 40 years of age. (I do not study Kabbalah because of this - at the time of this writing I am only 22 years of age - need to gain allot of wisdom)

It has been said that the bible is 'written' in Kabbalah, and that each time the religious scholar reads they gain more wisdom and respect for the God and his creation.

Now I am not talking about things like the Kabbalah Centre. Those groups are just a mix of things. The Kabbalah I speak of is entirely Abrahamic.

I am curious about what the members of this forum think about Kabbalah, and if anyone practices it.

Why you ask? To learn more about the world!

Learning about something and embracing it are 2 different things. Which are you after?

So Kabbalists seek to become gods themselves?

No, I don't think that is part of gnosticism. It's more the idea that material things are evil, and only spiritual things are good. But the divine is distant and unknowable unless one attains a special spiritual knowledge.

Sometimes it's hard to distinguish gnosticism, mysticism, and deism.

Why do you ask? Do you want to be a god?

Interesting. the Bible says that God made all things good. So Gnosticism cannot be right.

I do not want to be a God. Logically there is no need for another God. One God is perfection. My goal is greater wisdom and purity, not godhood.

Hence, I would ditch Kabbalah if I were you.

Good. Nothing wrong with that.
