 Heneynei, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking! Thank you for mentioning it -- I hesitated to comment, myself, as I know very little about Kabbalah (though I am vaguely familiar with it), and had determined that I have no business delving into it nor am I called to, at this point in my walk (though I might someday be at a place to learn more ;) ). But the fact is that truth can and is, without fail, misunderstood, twisted, abused and used by sinful persons... wherever it may be found.

I am not a particularly mystical person, and would probably be very suspicious of mystical teachings, including Kabbalah, but that's just me and where I am at right now. I think Sojeru also said it well; Kabbalah is not sound for everyone. I would also assume that like anything a believer studies, it is necessary to rightly divide Kabbalah and bring all things back to the Torah, to determine whether it is truth or error.

Hanaynei: I should not have to feel guilty for hesitating about Kabbalah.
I have been made to feel like a fool for hesitating and it greatly hurts my feelings.

I do read my Bible... I study it as much as possible.
Kabbalah makes me hesitate and that is my current feeling on it. I did not say I disagreed... I did not say it is wrong. All I said was that it makes me hesitate.

I agree, Sojeru said it best and he didn't have to come across as prideful in the process.
I deeply and humble apologize if what I said came off in anyway to hurt you P4I! Please know that was in no way my intention. I do humbly, and with regret for any pain I caused you, ask for your forgiveness.

One reason I included more than your post in my reply was because I was making a point about the texts, not the people.

I have not said in any post that I study Kaballah, in fact I don't. But I have found, for myself, that as I look back on my early attitude toward the Torah, and later toward the Talmud, my earlier misconceptions were based on a lack of information and an abundance of misinformation. So I am approaching my view of Kabalah with a bit more open caution.

Again, I aplolgize for any hurt my words have caused, you or anyone else on this board......

P4I, I appologize if my attitude came across as prideful or arrogant.

I merely want others to stop their bias and judge things for what they are on face value. If I were raised Jewish I doubt I would have bought this 'jesus' messiah because of the history of christianity towards my people. Could it be that other such texts have received an inaccurate labelling because of history?

I think that some of what I said (and henaynei) has been misunderstood. I was merely pointing out that this tired old argument that Kabbalah is based on a few bad apples in history is quite flawed. I can point out a basket full of bad apples who followed the Bible yet no one even dares question the validity of the biblical texts.

I would rather that all would hesitate and weigh everything in their minds.... including biblical texts, doctrine, theology, and Kabbalah! How dare we become a people that accept anything simply on the basis of simplicity. We should always question what we believe and prove it from a firm foundation.

Shalom,
Yafet.

I am trying to grow and I really admire your wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Hopefully I will get there someday!
OIY Achoti!! We BOTH have a loong loooong way to go before we have anything like a "wealth" of knowledge. Believe me, I know so very little....

In fact, Pray4Isrel, it is your open and gracious acceptance of us mouthy "know-it-alls" in this forum that makes me feel at home and comfortably secure here.

When I was where you are in my walk toward MJism I did not have such a gentle, loving and teachable spirit - one day you will make me look like a babe, and I will smile!!!:D

All the more so, if anyone hesitates towards any form of Judaic studies... be it Mishnaic study, Talmudic, Kabbalah, etc... please do not feel slighted or less educated. We are all in a learning curve that has placed us drastically behind because of the centuries of confusion christian history has layered on top.

All of us are in a state of growth and should exhibit a level of humility. I am often guilty of not showing this and I ask you all to hold me accountable.

shalom,
Yafet.

I would say that I have to applaud you for your excellent discernment. If I see someone playing with matches and gasoline, I warn them first, and then I walk away. Life is about choices.

let this be said however,
that our union will not be oneness at its beginning.
our union is mainly that "we agree to disagree and we disagree in love not strife, in peace and not hate"
However, this is not being ONE- but at least it will lead up to it.
According to what we DOour PHILOSOPHIES and view of the Bible and other writtings will either become more divided or more together in Oneness.

So, what is it that everyone will do?

Sojeru, I am not clear as to what you are referring in this post??
IF, you are referring to the post that HT was quoting of P4I's may I suggest you go back to about post 20 or so and read the full interaction??
If that is NOT to what you are referring, could you clarify a bit as I seem to be a bit foggy this morning???
Lost the train I suppose....

greetings your Excellency Henaynei,

I was actually making a comment on post 28 about the seeing eye to eye
:) Then I guess you did read the posts prior to and following that :) Therefore, in this forum anyway, the answer to your query re: "DO" is visable
