Justinian and Origen

What happened between Justinian and Origen, and what was Origen anathematized for?

I'm particularly interested in why Apocatastasis was condemned and if earlier Church Fathers taught this.

Origen was condemned for apocatastasis and a believe in the pre-existence of souls. He is the father of those teachings. Before him no one believed this, but those after him who held Origen in high esteem adopted this teaching (with some minor variations).
