  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thankyou for confirming that you do not know the answer to my two questions so obfuscation is the best you can do to save yourself from ridicule.
I know the answers to your questions, for some reason you refuse to ask them again.

Technically it is not. Neither biologically nor legally. Those are simply facts. Though abortions such as those in your image are tragic they represent a very very small percentage of all abortions. Such late abortions are almost always done due to severe medical conditions that make them necessary. We don't know anything about that fetus except for the fact that it was aborted. That makes it all but worthless in a debate. It is an example of emotional rather than rational opposition to abortion.

That fetus may have been dead already. Or doomed to die a painful death soon after birth. Sometimes abortion is a kindness.

24 weeks is not a late abortion.

Now there is a beautiful little IT.

I don't know what your particular denomination believes on where the 'soul' of aborted fetuses end up. Most believe they end up in heaven so I wonder what the problem is?

They get an express pass straight to eternal happiness. Isn't that wonderful?

  • The old, uninformed notions that unborn and newborn babies cannot feel pain are refuted by a growing body of scientific evidence. The published scientific literature shows that unborn babies can experience pain at 20 weeks gestational age (20 weeks LMP, since Last Menstrual Period, the fetal age estimate used by most obstetricians) or earlier. Two common methods are used to measure the age of an unborn baby: Probable post-fertilization age (PPF, used by embryologists) measures the age of the unborn baby from the actual date of conception, while gestational age measures from the first day of the mother’s last menstrual period (LMP, approx. two weeks before conception). Medical practitioners have been using the latter method as standard medical practice for decades, and for the purpose of this paper ages refer to gestational age unless otherwise indicated.
  • A comprehensive review of the scientific literature[1] including neural development, psychology of pain sensation, and moral implications of fetal pain, concludes that unborn babies may experience pain as early as 12 weeks.
The review notes that neural connections from periphery to brain are functionally complete after 18 weeks.
“Nevertheless, we no longer view fetal pain (as a core, immediate, sensation) in a gestational window of 12–24 weeks as impossible based on the neuroscience.”

In contrast, those who think abortion should be generally legal often use the word “fetus,” a clinical term derived from a Latin word meaning “offspring” or “newly delivered.”[7] As explained by Dorland’s Illustrated Medical Dictionary, a fetus is:

the unborn offspring in the postembryonic period, after major structures have been outlined, in humans from nine weeks after fertilization until birth.[8]

Simply put, when referring to humans, the words “fetus” and “fetal” apply from nine weeks after fertilization until birth.[9] [10] Yet, numerous major news organizations have misapplied these terms to both before and after this period.[11] [12] [13] [14][15] [16]

And twenty weeks is very late when it comes to abortions. Probably less than two percent of all abortions. That late and it was probably done out of medical necessity.

So a fetus is not a baby. Thank you.

If your goal is to reduce the amount of abortions being performed then banning abortion is not the path forward. The general consensus based on empirical data is that banning or severely limiting abortion services inceases the amount of deaths and injuries from unsafe abortions but does not reduce the overall amount of abortions performed.

You can read more on this from Amnesty International or the Human Rights Watch:

What Life is Like When Abortion is Banned

Here are the basic facts about abortion that you should know

I discovered later that few doctors perform abortions for very long. Though the women who want abortions are told that their pregnancy is just a blob of tissue, the abortionist knows exactly what he or she is doing, because the abortionist must count the body parts after each procedure

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:13-16, NKJV).

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5, NIV).

“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit…[saying] ‘As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy'” (Luke 1:41, 44, NIV).

“While they were there, the time came for the baby to born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son” (Luke 2:6-7, NIV)
