Can you be more precise? Do you mean, for living, for visiting, geographically, for the climate? What are you interested in?

Anyway. France is a beautiful country ;) and a wonderful place to live in ! :D All the people i know who have visited it have lived it a great deal. Tourism is our first way of national income.
The size of France is about 14 times smaller than the US, but there are a lot of different landscapes. We have a whole side on Atlantic ocean, and the south is bordered by the mediterrannean sea (including French Riviera). We have several mountain chains, the Alps and the Pyrreneans being the highest, but there is also the Massif Central (a former volcano chain) and the Jura.
We have fields, vineyards, cheese cellars, caves, castles (from Middle Age to XVIIIth century), churches, cathedrals, museums for everything. You could not see all were you living a whole century!

This was only a brief summary. Maybe now you'll have other questions?

I don't know. We may have different holidays depending if we're in school/highschool or university.

The major holidays are :
2 weeks in february or march (winter holidays - french people would go skiing).
2 weeks in April-May (Easter holidays, or more accurately spring holidays)
2 months in summer (july-august)
1 week in october/november (All Saints holidays)
2 weeks in december (christmas holidays).

At university, you wont have the All Saints holidays, as you would start only in october ;) which makes about 3 months summer holidays.

We have also some days off:
November 11 (Armistice)
December 25
May 1st
May 8
Easter day
Jesus' ascent day
The pentecost was removed last year, but we may have it back this year, i can't remember.
July 14
And maybe others that i forget.

What are your holidays?
