I draw friends and family a lot.
Um, I don't know what you mean by "other people." You mean people I don't know?
I've drawn pics of Orlando Bloom and Hilary Duff... And now I'm adding a picture of a little boy I found in a magazine and an unfinished picture of Anne Hathaway. I think the one of Anne is going to turn out pretty good... Atleast I hope it is.. So far it's going well. :)

I like your work, I can tell it is not your first, behind any skill is aliftime's practice, drawing or making a mark is wonderfull & you portaits show love & kindness except the first which shows coldness & a fear of death & decline with survival & wisdom as the focus, in that of the tree which is what draws me to the work but the woman has turned her back on it! & last one which I think shows lonelyness & sadness of someone who may have been hurt but is kind. very good all drawings & thought

Yes, you do have talent; they are good.

Forgive me if you've already answered this, but do you draw from life also? That is an excellent way to hone your skills, although it's not always easy to do when you are drawing people.

Your CF website shows a lot of creativity also.

I've tried drawing from life. Um, if I put the picture of the piano on here, that's from life, but the person playing the piano isn't drawn very well. I have another one that I drew from life that turned out better, but I don't think I even put that one on my personal homepage! I forgot.
I would love to be commissioned! I've always thought that would be really cool.

Both of these were drawn from life, the first one was drawn because I was in the mood to draw something different, and the second was just a really quick pic drawn while my little sister was watching the TV. I've got another that I plan on getting on here as soon as possible...

get started early for i started a painting for a friends wedding but mischedualed my time.
Here's something that helps alot with my artwork. I f you never have check out the local Library and look at their drawing and painting books, check a few out and discover some new things to help better your talent. I'm hoping myself to get motivated and need accountability, to continue to draw and paint. Also it's not good to think to highly of yourself < i've done that > :(
but it's NOT GOOD to put your self down. Keep up the good work!!

I go to Massachusetts COllege of Art. One of the main things the teachers focus on during freshman year is portraite drawing. We are told to do emotional portraites, huge portraites, black and white portraites that cover the whole value scale, One body part (like an ear) drawn at like %400, and even self portraites that don't include our face at all.
I'm not as good with portraites as I am with other kinds of art such as animal, landscape etc. However they are fun to do from time to time. You seem to have a real talent and understanding of your subject matter. Your proportions are really good with the facial features. I know it takes me forever to get these right sometimes. I really admire your work and I hope to see more of it.
I just found this forum about a week ago so now that I know about it I hope to put some work up soon too. It's my last year as an illustration major and I will be looking to get internships and comissioned work soon. I'm working on myu website now.Thank you for sharing your work. God bless all of you.
In CHrist,
Matthew
