  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you think an androgynous lifestyle is acceptable according to christian beliefs?
I don't see anything about it in scripture. I think it is dangerous ground to walk on though. Men were made to be men and women as well. We should be able to embrace the way God made us to be. Men are not supposed to be femmy and women should be able to accept their delicate selves. A woman who is delicate yet bold and sure of herself is something very beautiful.

"Men were made to be men and women as well." What does the New Testament say about gender roles?

In Christ there is niether Jew nor Gentile, male nor female..... I suppose we could go back to referring to how God cares about us more because we have a special relationship with God due to our bloodlines. But since most Christians accept the equality before God (at least nominally) in regards to race, why not for gender. While there is instruction, at least for females, it is univerally ignored except for certain sects which are considered extreme (extreme mennonites, hudderites, etc).

While I am sure some would want to ressurect certain passages to fulfill thier need for the status quo and thier perception to remain unchanged, try to remember when talking about male and female roles that a couple generations ago a woman who wore pants/trousers or smokes was "aping a man" and a man who didn't play sports was a "sissy" and those boys who were sensitive, or intellectually oriented as any turn of the century school boy tale will tell you, "aught to have been born a girl"

Male roles and female roles are merely what things males and females want and are willing to do or represent themselves as. A woman who fixes cars and loves mechanical things isn't a guy, she's a woman who fixes cars and loves mechanical things. And someone who demonstrates the characteristics of both genders is only defining for themselves what the limits of thier gender is.

So what?
