CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A little girl was sitting on her father's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes of the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheeck. She was alternating stroking her own cheeck, then his again. Finally spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?"
"Yes sweetheart," he answered. "God made a long time ago."
"'Oh," she paused, "grandpa, did God make too?"
"Yes indeed honey," he said. "God made you just a little while ago."
Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "God's getting better at it."

A hat was passed around a church congregation to take up an offering for the visiting minister. Presently, it was returned to him...embarassingly empty. Slowly the parson inverted the hat and shook it meaningfully.
Then raising his eyes heavenward, he exclaimed, "I thank you, Lord, that I got my hat back from this congregation."
