The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

I started doing some work on 'healing my inner child' today and it just kind of blew up in my face and made me feel awful. I can't even think about me as a kid without getting really upset.
I need a hug. I am just so tired of going through all my crap.
I'm going to pray now but I just need a ginormous hug or something.
I'm sorry you're so upset. I hope that God is able to help you feel better. If not, then I'm always here. Good luck with the rest of your "healing your inner child" stuff. and ever since I was 13 getting older and growing up has been VERY hard for me to handle and cope with especially after I graduated from HS.

Oh please try to not isolate. That's one of the worst things you can do when you're depressed. Stinks that that is often the thing we want most to do too. Even if it is just catching a quick bite to eat with a friend. Also, have you told anyone you've been feeling down? A few weeks back I was feeling horrible and it started getting better when I opened up to a friend about it. Not having to carry it by yourself can do wonders.
