• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone- couldn't get logged on so am now using this ID, still ocd'g.... question- do you all struggle with Bible translations? Which one is best, or is that ocd??? I look back on my early christian walk and my struggles in those days, and doesn't seem like much has changed....

If you obsess TOO much about it, I think it could very well be indicative of an OCD problem. I have obsessed in an OCD way about what a certain verse means. Not so much the entire translation. Like everything with OCD, a lot depends on the extent to which we take it. Everyone wants a translation that accurate, but how much do you obsess about that would seem to be the defining question IMO.

Thanks for your thoughts, in a way I can see its impulsive- but also i struggle with how do we know what is the accurate version... my ocd is for the most part livable lately, but 'what if' syndrome really gets me sometimes...

could very well be OCD i want to clarify that im not denying that you have it ..but also consider that it might be normal struggles as well

Yes- i tink someting i tend to forget, ontop of ocd and other issues i have, ptsd and panic, there are normal personality stuff... ocd really can complicate things... but just learning to turn the brain off and relax, someone once said, can't remember if it is here or not, when in deep ocding, read psalms- and you know, it does help..:)
