• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Came in this morning and HR called me into the office. They told me effective immediately I am terminated. Oh the joys of Bipolar, life, and this fallen world. Maranatha please. Maybe I am not capable of holding a job. At least I can collect unemployment for a while. Although it is pretty terrible here in AZ.

Please pray for me peeps. Thanks.

PS: tomorrow I go to my Psychiatrist. $150 out of pocket. That hurts.

I'm so sorry to hear about your termination. Did they tell you why?(you don't have to share this) I know where I live at they don't have to have a reason. Hopefully if there's a specific reason, they told so you can know how to improve your performance. What looks impossible with man is not impossible with God. I will also be praying for you that you find a new and better job. :groupray:

Have you checked out your local Mental Health Services? Many provide sliding scale fees and will help you to secure medical benefits if you need them. Paying out of pocket is only going to get worse when they start prescribing meds. Some of these Mental Health meds are expensive. So now that you have a little time on your hands, you may want to see what's available to you if you haven't already. In the meantime know that God is the lifter of your head and He will supply all your needs.

I also like this little saying that goes something like this; when we can't see God's hand, we can always trust His heart.

Stay encouraged :)

Thank God I have a great wife and I am on her insurance. I don't know what I would do without her. Right now I am not mentally capable of sifting through government red tape and paperwork. She had to fill out most of my unemployment papers. I am still quite blessed and we do have food and shelter. Many people in the world dont even have a piece of bread to eat. I am a bit crippled by the depression right now. Trying to make small daily goals. I am afraid I become my own worst enemy. I need to change my bad attitude. Thanks for your kind words. Man, they mean a lot to me. Bless you!

 I read your post and I see a true mark of a Christian person. It is always inspiring for the rest of us in the world with different problems when we see somebody being grateful amidst trouble, pain, injustice. I am glad you see all those blessings around you. I have been going through that mental numbness that you seem to describe. I could not help but to worry about all the issues I was facing and unknowingly I was making it worse for myself. I got so bad for me and it was so embarrassing that I could not even remember my phone number, the dates of employment from previous jobs, etc. I could not land a job and I was so frustrated but now I have to agree that I was actually not fit to perform certain jobs. It would have been very helpful for me to accept that I needed time off and a chance to put myself together. I was so worried that I failed to see something so simple-I needed to relax and not worry. I almost destroyed my marriage, and my relationship with my kids. I pray that you continue having Godly wisdom and that you continue being grateful for the beauty and love around you in life. I pray that your visits to the doctor are helpful and I pray that solutions come for your problems and I hope that your gratitude will always allow you to enjoy your beautiful family and any other blessing that God has provided to help you during the bad days in life. God bless

I know how it feels . I got fired from my job because I was bipolar , and going to court does not always help . I to was in such a state that i could not handle court even if I wanted to . I will pray that you get better and will be able to go back to work . Give it time and leave it in God's hands and it will in His timeing work out .

I hope all things are going well for you and your family.

I did not know someone can be fired for mental illness. In Ohio believe that is the law. If you disclose your mental illness to your HR representative, they cannot fire you just because you have that illness.

That being said, I should probably do some work today. :)

Bomichaels, that happened to me over a 30 year period, I've been homeless between 3 to 5 times, and I have been in your shoes. You might want to take a trip down to Social security and see if a medical early retirement disability is possible. I have military and SSdisability- took 19 months for the Social Security and 8 for the military.

My God be with you my friend- I feel for you, I've walked several miles in your boots and they pinch- hard.
