My husband and I are extremely happy, but very shocked. We'd actually decided to start preventing again because my boss (I'm a dance teacher) just told me she's pregnant, and due in mid-January. Oops!

I just got back from the doctors about an hour ago. My period hadn't arrived, but I'd had period pain for the last week or so. I had an incling that I might be pregnant, but I didn't have any of the usual symptoms, apart from sore breasts which I get with my period anyway. My husband suggested waiting until next week to test, because my periods can be a little irregular at times. Then, I had really bad pain during intercourse. So I thought something must be wrong, and because I have friends whose periods went AWOL after stopping the pill, I wanted to get it sorted out as soon as possible. I had all sorts of awful scenarios running through my head, the most extreme of which was ovarian cancer. My doctor suggested doing a pregnancy test to rule that out first, so we did one right then.

As it turns out, I'm not dying of cancer, lol. I'm pregnant! I'm roughly 4 weeks, so all going well, I'll have a son or daughter in mid-February. Wow

Thanks

I have my first prenatal appointment today. Last week, my doctor pretty much just said "Fill this prescription, get these blood tests, make another appointment for next week, and go home and let it sink in" lol.

I'm so scared that he's going to tell me something is wrong. Every pregnancy symptom, from exhaustion to that "I feel like I'm going to throw up, but it just won't come" feeling, are welcome, not matter how bad they are. They remind me that I actually am pregnant. I have to consciously not read about miscarriage, otherwise I get myself all worried.
