  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just for once let us all try to be honest.

No one is doing the Muslims work for them, why would you think such a silly thing?

ETA: Does Sharia law belong in the U.S.? How about bans on women showing their faces? I know that you would not want that in your schools.

When you open the door to one religion you open it to all of them.

I'm talking about the Ten Commandments.

I can't believe ... well, I can ... that you guys think allowing the Ten Commandments on the courthouse lawn would threaten to lead to Sharia Law.

If you're so concerned that other religions are going to invade us that you have to call for dismissals of godly men like Judge Moore, it seems to me you would post the Ten Commandments -- not remove them.

The Ten Commandments to us is ... well ... a sign that says: GOD IS WELCOME HERE.

But to other religions, it spells: KEEP OUT.

Perhaps you should try to learn why and how we know that the stories in Genesis never happened. We could start on something simple like the Noah's Ark story.

The Ten Commandments are rather poor moral guides to say the least. There are better sources for moral behavior. And you don't seem to get the point.

Those are not "your courthouses".

You cannot exclude others if you intrude with your own religion. It is best to keep matters of faith outside of the government sphere of power.

No likely, but you keep on dreaming. I have a bunch of bread that I have to go make,I stay up all night due to medical issues and can only sleep a little during day. So, off to play with my yeast and you can play ---"Nope---there is no God, Nope, there is no God, Nope there is no GodWe'll both be finding out soon--I'll have missed out on nothing in this life and in the next gain everything, you on the other hand----ouch!

Thanks---umm--I also have colon cancer and possibly renal cancer---silly me left some stupid window open and they flew in! It's not going to be fun getting the little critters out! You might add a little prayer for a good heavy duty broom to sweep them out with! I see the surgeon around Christmas ---Merry Christmas!! But I am praying for a Happy New Year!!

I agree. Well said AV. Anytime another Christian tries to claim it is not exclusionary to post the ten commandments I shall refer them here.
