What i understand it to be is like a redication of my life to JESUS i was already a christian and had been baptised but had not lived the life JESUS had wanted me to. So i redicated my life to the LORD and begun a new journey with him. I then stood before my church and told them of this and shared what i had done and prayed a pray that i had said to reaffirm my new life with JESUS. I also shared a verse LUKE 17: 20 - 21 Macrina is pretty clued up about this i am sure she would fill you in if you asked her she has been a real support since i first posted that i was going to do this reaffirmation in church on sunday just been GOD BLESS and thank you for asking.

can i ask something? whats a reaffirmation?????

In the Methodist church, it's like a re-baptism. You're re-affirming your committment. The UMC believes in ONE baptism, soooo if you feel (as I have) that you've been wandering in "the far country" and found your way back. . . . then you can re-affirm your belief and acceptance of God's love and grace.

God's Grace. . . . doesn't that just SOUND beautiful?!?!

hope your day is going good our weather is pretty poor all over the country and in our little town it is raining and very cold. Now that is bad considering winter has been over for a month. Other than that the day is going well having JESUS in our lives warms us up in more ways than one :amen:

I meant to copy a link to a mini-feature on this Jewish Harvest Festival

I understand that celebrations, in most synagogues, are at 7.30pm

It's also a reminder of the Feast of Tabernacles, when the Jews wandered in the desert after the Exodus

As I'm facing changes, I want to go along tonight & think on how, "Here, we have no continuing city, but we seek 1 to come, whose Architect & Builder is God"

Just type the title to a search for more...

Shalom!

Ian

I have just come accross verses i had marked in my bible but had not read in a while and would like to share it with you it is ISAIAH 53:4-6

"But he endured the suffering that should have been ours,
the pain that we should have borne.
All the while we thought that his suffering
was punishment sent by God.
But because of our sins he was wounded,
beaten because of the evil we did.
We are healed by the punishment he suffered,
made whole by the blows he received.
All of us were like sheep that were lost,
each of us going his own way.
But the Lord made the punishment fall on him,
the punishment all of us deserved.

And the rest of Isaiah 53 says it all. It is just amazing what was done for me and you. :amen:
