  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really like the book of James to study. It is a good study because the book itself is short(not too overwhelming) but completely jam packed with Godly principles.
My suggesting this particular book does not mean I don't like or study the whole bible. I do read the bible from cover to cover in about a years time but I also skip around outside of my daily bible reading time for extra study.

I really enjoyed a sermon series at our church that focused on David and his relationship with God looking at 1 and 2 Samuel and some of the Psalms. Also you could think topical - any concepts that you don't understand or would like to gain a better understanding of, and just read different passages using something like "Where to Find it in the Bible" by Ken Anderson as a guide.

I'm pretty good today, not depressed anymore (for the time being), which is such a relief. Tomorrow I go to an Allan Asbury concert with one of my friends, so I'm excited about that...but less than happy that Valentine's Day is the same day. How is everyone else doing?

I'm doing ok. Thanks for the suggestions everybody. I'm kind of stressed...trying to remind myself to relax or I'll give myself a killer headache like I did a couple of days ago. Have you ever thought that nothing happening can be just as stressful as everything swamping you? It's been one of those weeks. NOTHING is happening, every day seems like the one before. I'm tense and I don't even know why. Could you guys pray for me? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you and God bless.

I am going to get me a red letter Bible. I have been looking for a book with just the words of Jesus in it...I never thought of the red letter Bible until you mentioned. Thank you dsdumpling....

FP, if you have a Sam's Club around I got a Rainbow Bible there that has all God's/Jesus' words underlined. Usually when you get a red letter bible it's just Jesus' words. This one is pretty cool because all of God's words in the Old Testament are also underlined.

It is neat just reading Jesus' words, how he talks to people, very special.

I guess I got a little cofused...a red letter Bible is the same as the red letter edition...right? I do have the red letter edition. I like Jesus' word in red too. I do have a Sam's Club nearby...The Rainbow Bible does sound cool.

Thanks dsdumpling.
