I'd say that The Simpsons has become a little more irreverent but it's still quite a wonderful show. It's had its slow seasons, but this recent season is pretty good. As for its morals and values, all I could say is it's definitely much tamer than Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park.

I use to watch it, but it got repetitive. Now I'm more into Family Guy.

I like Family Guy too, but there is no show so repetitive as Family Guy. If I had a nickle for every time Family Guy recycled a "joke" (e.g. that inflatable man salesman, those piano guys, Conway Twitty), I'd have at least a dollar for sure! And don't get me started on that episode where they spend an entire three or so minutes showing a Conway Twitty performance!

Yah, that does get annoying, I must admit. :p

I watch both The Simpsons and Family Guy (I've seen every single episode of both), and occasionally American Dad... The Simpsons is way tamer IMO than FG or AD... it's not innocent of course, but no show really is these days.

I grew up with The Simpsons, but turned more towards Family Guy when it first aired. In recent years I haven't even bothered watch The Simpsons unless I have nothing else to do. I prefer Superjail!, Metalocalypse, and Frisky Dingo, along with other older [as] shows.

Simpsons is still great for me, there was a slump in the more recent years but they have gotten considerably better lately. And ofcourse each episode should be judged on it's own funnyness rather than a whole season.

As far as morals go, there obviously is less morals than season 1 and 2... but that's also when homer became more and more funny.

I've always liked The Simpsons. I do know that Homer picks on Ned Flanders and all, but I guess the reason the show has always appealed to me is that somehow the family just has some innocence to them. They are probably not considered good role models to some of us, but I've started to see them as an average family trapped in their own sinful impulses and yet still go to church and show their feelings for one another, and many times even end up having to do the right thing. I also like how they show God and Christianity as being the one religion that really exists in their animated world.

While I think Futurama is Groening's superior series (as evidenced by my avatar) I enjoyed the first ten seasons of The Simpsons and it had some really good episodes. The last ten years have been mediocre at best and it feels like they're just scraping the bottom of the barrel to stay on television.

I actually wasn't allowed to watch the show when I was really young because my parents thought Bart was a bad role model, which I certainly can't argue with. I really liked how the early seasons had an innocence and some heart to them, as the family dealt with spirituality and other moral values. It's that kind of charm and honesty that's been missing for the past decade.
