Let me say first and foremost I am NOT KJVO. With that said lately I seem to keep going back to my KJV there's something about the feeling I get while reading it. Does anyone else get that?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm with you, KJV is one of my favorite translations. I prefer the more literal translations plus it has a poetic majesty to it.

That's true with the majesty it was written. I have NASB and ESV etc. Just been picking up the KJV more idk lol.

I don't doubt you at all. i don't read anything else but the KJV, unless I want to see how another version interprets a scripture that's vague. But I still don't necessarilyy buy into another version's interpretation. Revelation comes through prayer.

I often listen to the KJV bible read. I think to fully enjoy the experience you should have it read by a Brit. I own the bible read by Alexander Scourby and I also like Max McLean who reads on Biblegateway. As to majesty and loftiness in the KJV, yes.

It's a perfectly natural kind of thing. Especially if you've been raised with KJV or if the bulk of your Christian experience is related to it. It can happen with any other translation as well. It can even happen with other things...like music.
When I was a kid, I didn't have enough money to buy CD albums, so I bought cassette tapes that were compilations of the best songs from an artist. But sometimes, the songs on the compilation were not the same as the ones released on the official albums. So, for instance, I fell in love with the songs on Peter Gabriel's "Shaking The Tree." Later, when I bought the official albums, many of the songs were slightly different. I still have a hard time listening to the songs on the official albums. They don't sound right...even though I know that the ones on the albums are the way they were intended by the artist and the ones I listened to growing up were purposely changed for the compilation.

I see your point. I've noticed what you mean by music and its weird that some songs I've looked up today that I remember back in the day on cassette or vinyl for nostalgia reasons are different and bugs me lol
