  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes I have wondered the same thing, were are all the female atheists? From the few studies I have read, male atheists out number female atheists 2 to 1. Also they are predominately male whites, which makes me an exemption.

Its either females have more social stigmas for why not to doubt and are more emotion-decision based creatures, which I do not accept after reading feminist philosophy, or they are less confrontational and are usually don't talk much about their disbelief.

I personally have met only 3 female atheists and at least a dozen male atheists. Well anyways, I still wonder the same question.

Yes. I have. But it is still different if you see them in person. Yes, thanks for the help dear! :)
I see. Well, at least you can talk to them over the internet. That's better than not being able to talk at all. :) And you're welcome, no problem! ^^

Well I wouldn't say smarter. Girls and guys have equal learning abilities. I guess is the 'gender cultures' that are different. It seems its more ok to be 'smart' for a guy, than a girl. For a girl they are more expected to do more 'support' kind of smart to guys.

After reading feminist philosophy, I learned that a girl first is one, and then becomes one as society tells her to. Just like first you are a citizen of the U.S and then you start becoming and acting like an american. If you don't become it, or fall into the social norms, you will be stigmatized.

Like for me as a guy, being really smart during middle school or even high school, its looked down upon. Also you have better chanced of getting a girl if you act careless and very active.

I think if girls just broke out of their shell and tried to be 'smart', I think we would be both equally as capable and smart.

Same idea back in the day when society thought that blacks were not intelligent. The reason for that was because they weren't given the opportunity to be smart. Now for an african american, its cooler to act gangsta than act nerdy.

So, being smart is relative to who you want to be.

i dont know one person who would like to do homework.

I like homework. Also if you want to succeed, you must learn to like it. Either that, or you remain ignorant all your life.

In college is either you study and do the necessary work to pass(no actual homework given), or you are just a failure.

That is how the academic world works, only those who endure survive.

true-ish. homework is important, but you dont nessecarily have to be joyful about doing it. surviving is life or death. if you dont endure you end up working at mcdonalds. just think of it this way, every week your pastor writes a half-hour to 2 hour sermon, depending on your pastor. he comesup with it from one book, the bible. your homework is just a review of things that you learned that day that your teachers could not fit in your one-hour class.

Ya. In high school and middle school is different. It seems almost like busy work there. In college there is rarely any homework assigned. The only homework is just essays mainly. The rest is just whatever you want to do. I study at least 6 hours a day, apart from the classes. Like today I spent 8 hours reviewing for political science.

So college is nearly no busy work. Everything is connected. High school and middle school are just designed to get you the general knowledge, and get you interested in things.

I've pretty much forgotten everything I learnt in history now, I havn't done it in about 5 years lol.

I think history would be much more helpful if it taught a basic timeline of things that happened and roughly what it was like then and important things that happened then. I mean that rather than learning how many wifes a certain old english kind had and how they died..... details that don't matter.
