  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay, this is just my understanding. Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong. If you are a Christian, a demon cannot possess you unless you allow it - Make a conscious decision to say, Yes, I allow this spirit to use me.

HOWEVER, demons can and do influence Christians. They work through doubt, insecurity, and our own human nature. They are master manipulators. They can overtly suggest we do something, and use our reaction to do the opposite, which is what they want. They can also influence us through others. A lot of times, they manipulate our emotions to make us feel that lies are true (like feeling rejected when no rejection is meant).

Fighting them is work, but fairly straight-forward. Surround yourself with prayer, and with people who pray. Read the Word out loud. Contradict the lies - "No, they are NOT rejecting me. That is a lie, Satan, and I refuse to believe it."

After praying, and if you feel you need the support, get some Spirit-filled friends around, just tell the demon to leave. Jesus has given us this power, through His Spirit. Use the name of Jesus Christ, and don't ask, but COMMAND the spirit to leave you (or whoever) and your family, and not to come back. There's only two requirements, besides being a Christian - you have to believe that the power of Jesus will make it leave. It's your faith that empowers the prayer. And you have to say it out loud. While God can hear your thoughts, demons can't. Be loud, get angry. Stomp your feet. This spirit is trying to destroy you and your witness. Even Jesus got righteously angry.

If you feel the spirit's influence again, just say, "No, you can no longer bother me unless I allow it. And I refuse you. You are not welcome. Go away, in the name of Jesus." Then thank God for giving you this ability.

I had to do this with some deep-seated anger about my husband's disability. I've had to continue to declare my freedom from the anger, because they don't give up easily. But it does work.

I always thought it was silly, saying this stuff out loud. And I definitely felt silly at first. But when it hit me that this spirit was destroying my family and my relationship with my husband, and also keeping me further from Jesus than I wanted to be, I got mad. Then, it wasn't me and several other women praying, it was me and this spirit facing off.

Hope something in here helps.

Look at it this way my beloved friend. Who would the evil one wish to spend more time on? An unsaved one who already is his, or one who is not his? He cannot have you but can make you insecure and doubtful. Those who belong to Jesus can still be tormented and made ineffective if not protected by prayer and if they spend time with unclean spirits. Renounce the devil and all his works in Jesus name!

Father, My friend and your beloved daughter is suffering the slings and arrows of the evil one this day. Lord deliver her from those things in her life that are allowing the demons to attack her. In Jesus name I command those demons to flee!

Now, are you saved my friend? have you given your life to Jesus? If so I celebrate with you. If you are not 100% sure please read the scriptures listed on the bottom of my sister Lilmissmontana's post. Salvation scriptures. Read them and if you believe them tell Jesus you need him. Tell Him you want him to come in and help you. Tell Him you give your life to Him to run for you. if that happens you can be 100% sure you are saved and start withstanding the demons attacks and you can make them flee yourself!

I will continue praying for you sister! contact me if you need me! I love you!

One who is possessed is not saved and truly needs deliverance. HOWEVER, I believe all to often we are quick to give creedance to a foe who is only strong in our minds.

Possession and Oppression. Oppression happens to most Christians at some point. they are overwhelmed with a weight on them that drags them down and its intent is to destroy the Christian. Even if this spirit destroys that Christian does not mean they become possessed.

Possession has been explained very well in this thread already.

So I guess my point is this. If possessed get delivered and redeemed as light and dark can not be inside the same room. However, oppression is part of the fight, and deliverance from it is also needed your salvation does not lay in the balance in the case of oppression. Does that make sense? I hope so.

God Bless

it sounds like the way you believe is more like oppression. and yes, Jesus does save our soul. But I believe Satan can still possess a christian, because he is allowed to destroy our body, just not our soul....that is if we are saved. Jesus never guaranteed that just because our souls our saves that we cannot still have our bodies taken over by satan.

I gave my life to Christ, yet demons are still present. I see them and they scare me. Their energy is like a hellish presence and its scary....very scary.

Jesus has my soul, but that doesn't mean the devil cannot play with my mind and body. what about all my crosses that break mysteriously and how objects move by themselves and what about seeing premonitions and hearing demons and seeing them? this is real....and yet I am still a christian.
