Hi

1. Being saved from Gods wrath from youre Sins, You can only be saved through Jesus Christ, He died for us on the cross.

Romans 10:9,10 "...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

Romans 10:13 "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!"

2.You dont make God love you, He already does, more than you can ever imagine, in fact he IS love, perfect love.

3. Dont deserve what, im sorry youre not specific, to make it simple. If youre thinking about His love which im thinking you are, we are not worthy of Him, not trying to be mean but we are sinners. But God loves us anyway, even when we were dead in our transgressions He died for us on the cross as an act of love.

I hope this helps

God Bless!!

ok..im new to all this, and probley shouldnt be posting yet again..but here goes.

1.what is being saved?
2.what do you do to make god love you?
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?

Hi Rowy!

Welcome to CF!

You ask such great questions and I'm glad you posted them.

Here is what being saved is about.

We have all sinned (done wrong - all wrongdoing is sin) against God.

Due to our sin, while we are yet alive, we are actually dead (spiritually) and have a broken relationship with God.

In that state we are unsaved as is anyone prior to believing/trusting in Christ.

If we died, we would go to hell, if we died in our sin.

You've heard I'm sure that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and thereby paying for our sins. Then even though He died for our sins, He was resurrected (He did not stay in the grave, but arose.)

The bible shows us that if we believe/trust in Christ we will be forgiven our sin, and we will be saved, and when we die, we will be with God in heaven. Since Jesus was resurrected, we too will be. We know we won't stay in the grave. Immediately upon death we are with the Lord. Our body dies but we (our soul or who we are) goes to be with God.

When we trust/believe in Christ, the Holy Spirit (God) indwells us, we are a new creation in Christ, we are born again. So, we are born spiritually in a sense, as now we are alive and before we were dead.

Our sins are forgiven past present and future.

Just one quick note I forgot, that there is one God who is revealed in 3 persons. So one God, 3 persons.

Father, Son (Jesus), Holy Spirit - this is called the trinity. This is not an easy concept for anyone to grasp but is how the bible shows us who God is.

On your next question, what do we do to make God love us.

He already loves you very much so. You are very precious in His site, and God wants all to come to Christ and be saved.

There is nothing you need to do to make God love you. You come as you are to Christ, there is nothing you need to do but believe and trust Jesus for your life to be saved.

Your 3rd question is what if you don't deserve it?

Hon, there is nothing in this world that anyone can do that Jesus (God) would reject you or not accept you.

Many of us have lived very dark lives, others not so dark, and while we all have different experiences, many as well, feel they are undeserving and unlovable, and as is how they are treated by others, and they feel/think God might think the same.

Such is not so in the world, and not so with God. You are deserving and lovable by those in the world, and God loves you very much, no matter what you've done, no matter what anyone has said to you, no matter what..

When we come to Christ, we live a new life. It's something that God does in us, he brings a change in us when we believe in Christ (which is the same as being born again.)

So when someone comes to Christ and believes and trusts in Jesus, they are sealed and marked a deposit, the Holy Spirit (God) indwells us, and we will be saved.

What occurs when someone comes to Christ varies with each person.

I'll share what occurred with me, but in no wise does it mean same thing with you as again we are all different.

The moment I came to Christ, which for me was answering 2 questions from the pastor I spoke to. More happened previously but this is where I was born again. People come to Christ by all different means, meaning, that the 2 questions he asked me, may not and often times are not asked of another.

Sometimes no questions are asked and so just reminding you of everyone being unique in how we come to Christ.

I was immediately born again, (didn't know such at the time), and walked out of the office and knew immediately I had always known this was truth (Jesus, that he exists) but somehow suppressed it. Another thing also occurred immediately, which I won't go into in this post.

While no one told me what to do at all, I began reading the bible.

I immediately had no desire for my past life at all, the dark life I had been living; I just no longer desired those things and as I read the bible I learned much.

As we read the bible as Christians (after coming to Christ) our minds are renewed or we are changed our minds I mean. As I said, I no longer desired to sin (even before I had started to read the bible) as I had before, and I acutely knew Jesus was with me.

Jesus is who it is all about. He is our Savior and He guides us gently and lovingly and with more love and care than one can dream or imagine. To be aware of His presence is awesome.. And I'll never forget when I first was a Christian how I always sensed He was with me at every step of my life.

I had a hunger for the bible, and couldn't put it down.

Some women at this church, reached out to me, godly women and helped me with questions I had, and friend, I felt i was so unworthy of anything, I couldn't even go into church, as I thought everyone was so good and I was so bad, and I would sit in the car and cry.

Finally I told one of the women in church on the phone that I kept coming, but didn't go in. She encouraged me to come in and as I said, a few other women also reached out to me, and they were mature in faith, and accepted me as I was, did not judge me, and just helped me very much as I was growing in Christ.

All our lives we will grow in Christ.

So, with me, when I came to Christ many things changed about me almost immediately. Is not so with everyone, as we all are different, and so never to worry whatever your walk with God is like, it is your walk, and is between you and God.

God is the one who changed me, as you recall I said no man had said, not to do x, or I had to do x, nothing was given me, as the pastor knew that God does the work. I learned this much later, when in hindsight.

As we read the bible, we see truths and promises and much of what we read in the bible is what helps us through our life. We can have deep joy and peace and much more.

We are blessed as we do good and right, and we hunger to serve God (again, all depends on each person, as to when such occurs, or how it occurs), just relaying how I was.

We no longer desire to sin. We know much of what sin is already, some we don't know, and some we think we know as others may have said something which may not be true.

Many people believe things about God or the bible and Christianity which are not truths, and so, is good to check in the bible and also get help if possible by going to church, and a small bible study is a very good way as well in which to grow and learn.

So, whatever you may have in your mind about God, Christians, and the bible, may not be accurate, and so not to worry, you will grow and learn as you read the bible.

So in reading the bible, we see things we are commanded to do, and commanded not to do. God made us free will beings and we can choose to do what God says to do or not to do, or we can choose not to.

As I said, when we do right and good, which would be God's commands, we are blessed, inside us we know we are doing right and that blessed us.

We know we are honoring God and that blesses us. Some of the commands in the bible are about sin, or about doing good things, or about how to love others, etc. Others things would be things we are commanded not to do, of course sin being one, but as well as other things.

When we do wrong, we don't get those blessings and sometimes often, pull away from God, afraid to talk to him, though never ever have to be afraid, but often occurs. And also, even though we pull away, God nevr does, he never leaves us or forsakes us. It's us that pulls away, never God.

Even though we are forgiven all our sin, we still sin as Christians. As we don't always do as commanded. As Christians depending on where one is at with God, we desire not to sin, and seek to do right, but we can also be in times, when we are not walking closely with God.

God knows where we are and why we are where we are.

No one keeps all of the commands perfectly. Only Jesus is the only sinless person who ever existed, which is why He was able to die for our sins, as a sinless sacrifice was need to pay for all sin. Jesus was that sacrifice. He is God, He always existed, called the Son of God and is God, name is Jesus, and he was born of a virgin (mary), and became Savior to all who believe and trust in Him.

If you want to come to Christ, you can just talk to God, and tell him that, tell him anything on your heart, and tell him you want to be his child, or whatever words you desire to use. The two questions I answered were, would I commit my life to Christ and would I die for Christ.

Others can hear a message and then someone leads them in prayer (which is just talking to God) if they desire to bellieve and trust Jesus with their lives.

Others can come other ways, as unique as we all are, we come to Christ, all thru belief and trust in Him but it may be in different ways than the two examples above and indeed there are many who you will find out later what led them to Jesus and how they were saved (or born again.)

God will never fail you. He never fails. He never does evil, he only seeks our good and works all things to the good for those who believe in Him.

In the bible we see that life will be full of struggles for us, and that each day we are told to take up the cross. That means to follow Christ and walk as He walked, and as you read about Him you'll understand more.

Taking up our cross also means putting to death in us, desires that are not good for us, the old man, or our old self, and taking on the new. All this comes by our willingness to do as we learn in the bible and by God helping us and working in us.

The world is not like it was meant to be. God created all things good, and then you'll read in Genesis about the fall of man. Man sinned, and God cursed the earth and there's more about that in Genesis. But due to such we live in a fallen world.

Others sin and hurt us and hurt others, we sin and do the same.

And we trust in God as we go thru this life. We keep our eyes focused on Christ and not on man, as man will always let us down, even our friends, could be a pastor, anyone at all, which is why as a Christian we need always focus and trust only in Christ, and never in man, as I said, we all sin and can and will fail.

In reading this over, I can't see if I wrote this, but the Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, again, one God in 3 persons, always existed. Never created, always was. Angels and humans and all creation was created by God, but no one created God, God always was; or has always been, or has always existed, and alway will. God has no beginning and no end, as we too have no end but we did have a beginning as we were created by God.

If you desire to read a little in the bible I'll give you a link to john, which many say is a good place to start reading, not sure why, but is why I'm giving you this link:

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=50&chapter=1&version=31

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning
.

Above is verse one and two of John, and the Word is Jesus and note what it says, and then you can also read on more if you like in that book of John in the bible.

Being in Christ is the best place anyone can ever be, and you'll understand when such happens, should you desire to come to Christ, and no matter what happens, we know what God gives us in the bible (truths which help us moment by moment) as well as that this life is short, compared to eternity which we will be with God after this life.

God bless you
take care,
tapero

Um, are you a Christian or not? Your icon suggest you are, and this particular subforum is for non-christians to ask questions.

1.what is being saved?
Exactly what it says on the tin - being rescued from something (in this case sin and death).

2.what do you do to make god love you?
Nothing. He already loves you unconditionally, as a father loves his child.

3.what happens if you dont deserve it?
Doesn't matter whether you deserve it or not. His love (like all true love) is unconditional.

1.what is being saved?

Being saved is being saved from God's eternal wrath
in hellfire.

"I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him,
which after he hath killed hath power to cast into
hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him" (Luke 12:5).

"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of
God, which is poured out without mixture into the
cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented
with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy
angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the
smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and
ever: and they have no rest day nor night"
(Revelation 14:10-11).

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not
see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him"
(John 3:36).

"God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain
salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ"
(1 Thessalonians 5:9).

2.what do you do to make god love you?
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?

None of those whom God has chosen to love have done
anything to make Him love them, nor do any of them
deserve His love.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God" (Romans 3:23).

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he
loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for
our sins" (1 John 4:10).

"God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then,
being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his
life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received
the atonement" (Romans 5:8-11).

Dear rowy. You had some good replies, yet I am compelled to add, some Christians, although they are sincere and God - fearing, they dwell too much on the Fear. God is all Love and Compassion, and Jesus described Him very well when He told us the Parable of the Lost Son. The Hell-Fire is reserved for Satan and his followers, his evil minions. Always remember that God made us in His image, and God has in no wise cast us out, God wants us back, God loves us. Jesus died for us, He paid the price to reconcile us, to help us to repent, to help us to exchange our selfish and uncaring characters, into loving selflesly, treating others as we would like to be treated ourselves, or our loved ones. There is a place in outer Darkness, where those men and women will end up, when they refuse the Love and Forgiveness God has for us. Jesus told us to tell the Good News to all men and women, and the Good News is that we are free to follow Jesus all the Way, and that He saved us from the Evil One and the power he thinks he has. Jesus vanquished Satan on Golgotha, and Death also lost its sting. I say this humbly and with love, rowy. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

1.what is being saved?
2.what do you do to make god love you?
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?

1.) Salvation happened in the past. Via the incarnation (specifically the hypostatic union), it became possible for us to attain theosis. To one in the Church (a Christian), we are being saved. If we persevere, we will be saved in the future. Those in the Church are part of the body of Christ and have the Holy Trinity living in them. Through the life of the Church, the Holy Mysteries, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to do good works. Anyone living out their life in the Church will be changed/transfigured. This is only possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. We must daily pick up our cross and follow Him.

"No one can take God as his Father unless he takes the Church as his mother" --St. Cyprian of Carthage

We are being saved from sin and death.
I'm swiping this from here http://www.christianforums.com/t2642...ox-church.html as it says it better than I could:

The Orthodox teaching is that Heaven and Hell are the same "place" , standing in front of God. The Judgment is individual perception, determined by one's relationship to God. This perception will determine whether or not one experiences it as paradise (Heaven) or agony (Hell) eternally .

What is sin? We hear a lot about it. Sin means 'to miss the mark.' The mark is, of course, living a life fully in accordance with the life and teachings of Christ. So, to sin is to keep oneself separated from God. Sin can be voluntary or involuntary and can be achieved with our knowledge or our ignorance. Some things are obvious sins. Others, not so much. Sin is personal in nature and you will find no definitive list of what is or isn't a sin. You can be sure that anything which causes a person to 'miss the mark' is a sin. We don't inherit original sin, just the consequence of it, which is death. In the Christian view, everyone sins. This doesn't mean that we are born depraved though. We just all wind up sinning in some form or another throughout our lives. The Church is the ultimate hospital and Christ is the Great Physician. To a Christian, we live out our lives in the Church, and must daily make a decision to take up our cross and follow Christ. The Church is there to help us turn from our sins. A person who perseveres in this will attain theosis. Our struggle with sin is something that everyone must contend with.

2) God loves everyone already; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

3) Everyone is a sinner, but God desires that none should perish. This is why the incarnation was necessary.

Hello rowy,

ok..im new to all this, and probley shouldnt be posting yet again..but here goes.

1.what is being saved?
2.what do you do to make god love you?
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?
1) Being saved is when you have accepted God's offer of salvation from sin. Essentially, think of it like this: You get caught speeding, the judge fines you £50000 which you cannot possibly pay. He must pass sentence on you, because you are guilty, and he cannot be righteous if he makes allowances and so on. So he does pass sentence, and then after that comes down and gives you a cheque for £50000, as he is not only the judge, but your best friend. That's essentially what we have done, we have sinned, cannot make amends for it and God has payed the price for us. By accepting that, we are saved.

2) Nothing. He loves all equally, by default I guess you could say.

3) None of us deserve it. We are all unworthy, so you are like us all. The only difference between you and me is that I as a Christian, am saved... :)

Cheers!

1.what is being saved?

Saved from the penalty of sin that is eternal death.

2.what do you do to make god love you?
Accept God Loves you.

Also a more important question should be. How does one come to Love God: The answer by reading and hearing His Word, That is coming to know Jesus.

3.what happens if you dont deserve it?
No body has ever deserved it. I don't deserve it you don't deserve it and everybody you pass by on the street does not deserve it. This is what makes it a true gift of a trully loving God. For if we deserved it then it would be a payment rather than a true gift given by a loving God to those who accept His will.[/FONT] :)

1.what is being saved?
2.what do you do to make god love you?
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?

1) When someone is saved they recieve the gift of eternal life with Jesus Christ, God. So a person's eternal life is saved.

2) God loves everyone already so there it nothing you can or have to do to earn His love, but each person must become born again, become an adopted child of God, and receive eternal life with their name written in the Lambs book of life. That means when each Chrstian dies physically that they automatically enter heaven.

3) None of us deserve the gift of eternal life. However God offers it to each one of us and if someone chooses to recieve that gift, they are at that momemt saved, made clean in the sight of God because the perfect sinless nature of Jesus is imputed to each believer.

Being born again means to believe in one's heart that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah, that He lived a perfect life and gave Himself as payment for one's sins and that he was resurected in a gloried body and is alive today in heaven.

There is more, but that is the starting point for Christians.

Sorry that may have gotten a bit confusing but the fact that none of us deserve to be saved which is why it is a gift and can't be earned by any kind of good works.

1.what is being saved?

it's a watered-down term now-a-days where converting to Christainity has become easy, but understanding Christainity has been hard. So I will give a defention based upon my own personal exprence. when I was in highschool I went through so much confusion and people hated me, I was a spoiled punk and quite frankly, i hated who i was. I became a Christain at the age of 17 and sense than i am truly a new creature in christ. I am completely diffrent..... my life is still hard, but I over-all have changed. this is what I beleive salvation is. It's a new life.
2.what do you do to make god love you?

you can't make God love you, thats not the point. he already loves you. We have been programmed to please humans so much that we come to learn that we always have to do something to be loved. well.... with god that philophy gets thrown out the window because God loved you even before you existed, and nothing in heaven or earth can take that away, nothing you do or anyone else. Pleasing people has been about deal breakers and keepers and seperation really..... with God he creates you, so he loves you just as you are, people try to RE-create you, but God loves you in your pure state.
3.what happens if you dont deserve it?

no one deserves it, it's a gift. Just like a christmas present is a gift. Infact it's an outright insult to tell someone who's giving you a gift "I don't deserve this, take it back". You don't earn god's love because it's not something you were meant to work for, it's something you receive as a gift out of love.

Emmy said in post #6:
God is all Love and Compassion

God is certainly Love and Compassion:

"And we have known and believed the love that God
hath to us. God is love" (1 John 4:16).

"God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us"
(Romans 5:8).

But God is also fire and wrath:

"Our God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29).

"The children being not yet born, neither having done
any good or evil, that the purpose of God according
to election might stand, not of works, but of him
that calleth, It was said unto her, The elder shall
serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I
loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then?
Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he
saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have
mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have
compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth,
nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth
mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for
this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might
shew my power in thee, and that my name might be
declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he
mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he
hardeneth.
|
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find
fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O
man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall
the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast
thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the
clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto
honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God,
willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power
known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of
wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make
known the riches of his glory on the vessels of
mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory"
(Romans 9:11-23).

Emmy said in post #6:
The Hell-Fire is reserved for Satan and his followers

Hellfire is certainly reserved for Satan and his
angel followers. But it is also reserved for Satan's
human followers, for Jesus is addressing humans when
He says:

"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew
25:41).

"If thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better
for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two
hands to go into hell, into the fire that never
shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and
the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend
thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter
halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into
hell, into the fire that never shall be
quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire
is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck
it out: it is better for thee to enter into the
kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to
be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not,
and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:43-48).

People can be followers of Satan without even
realizing it:

"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that
doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he [Jesus]
is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this
purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of
God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in
him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the
children of the devil: whosoever doeth not
righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth
not his brother" (1 John 3:7-10).

This must refer to those who sin without ever
repenting from it, for by God's grace some can
repent from their sin and be forgiven for it, and
so escape the clutches of Satan.

"The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from
all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If
we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar,
and his word is not in us" (1 John 1:7-10).

"God peradventure will give them repentance to the
acknowledging of the truth; And that they may
recover themselves out of the snare of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will"
(2 Timothy 2:25-26).

"Turn them from darkness to light, and from the power
of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins, and inheritance among them which are
sanctified by faith that is in me [Jesus]"
(Acts 26:18).

1)First, its asking Christ to forgive you of your sins and telling Him that you are sorry for them. And you want to start a new life spiritually from your fallen nature to His divine nature. Then ask for the Holy Spirit to come into your life; as it gives one the power to live a christian life. Without it - no one will have the power to be able to turn from sin. One is in bondage to sin until the Holy Spirit comes into us and then He can do a work in us. Its a lifelong lifestyle and committment of dying daily to our sin nature then we walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh anymore. How is this done daily? Praying to God daily- I use the Our Father prayer as a model, read the Bible daily and hear the Word (Bible preached). Go to a church that have serious christians in it - practice what they preach not a social club. Surround yourself with inspirational people who don't drag you down.

2) Make God love you? God Is Love and already loves you. He isn't about love but He is unconditional eternal love and already loves you. He just wants you to die to your fallen nature so you can be with Him eternally. God is Holy and can't have anything but this in heaven.

3) What would happen if you don't deserve it? None of us deserves this, but God's gift of salvation is to all people. Its because He first loved us. Its by grace. We can't never deserve this because of our fallen nature; the standard is way way too high.

Yes, the Bible is true if you have any doubts. I'm a christian spiritually and intellectually second.

Biblical Evidence – This is a very small amount of information
out of large amounts of information out there.

Internal Evidences-Prophesies that are confirmed with Bible;

mentioning only a few – but there are hundreds.

Life of Christ
The Tribe of Judah, Gen. 49:10, Luke 3:23-28
(Genesis was written 4004 BC to 1689 BC)
(Luke’s time period is 60-70 AD)

Royal Line of David, Jer 23:5, Matt 1:1
(Jeremiah 760 to 698 BC)/(Matthew 60-70 AD)

Born of a Virgin, Isaiah 7:14/Matt 1:18-23
(Isaiah 760 to 698 BC)/(60-70 AD)

Rise of Empires
In the book of Daniel, Chapter 2 – four kingdoms are described in the interpretation
of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greek – Daniel 8:21, 10:20/ and a fourth great kingdom to follow which was part iron and clay – which is the
Roman Empire – during this empire, Christ came and the church was established – Daniel 2:44.

Historical Accuracy

The Bible is loaded with historical statements concerning events of hundreds of years ago, yet
none of them has been proven to be incorrect.
(Bible compared to other ancient documents)
New Testament – starts at 25 years – between the original and surviving copies
Homer- starts at 500 years/Demosthenes – at 1400 years/Plato – at 1200 years/
Caesar – at 1000 years

Number of Manuscript Copies

New Testament – 5,686/Homer – 643/Demosthenes – 200/Plato – 7/Caesar – 10

Consistency – Written by 40 men over a period of time exceeding 1400 years, and has no
Internal inconsistencies.

Claim of Inspiration- It claims to be spoken by God, 2 Tim 3:16-17). No other religious book makes such claims.

External Evidences

(Prophesies Outside the Bible)
These cities were prophesied to be destroyed and never to be built again- and they haven’t.
Niveveh – Nahum 1:10, 3:7, 15, Zephaniah 2:13-14
Babylon – Isaiah 13:1-22
Tyre -Ezekiel 26:1-28

Bible before Science

He hangs the earth on nothing – Job 26:7
(Job was written at least 1000 years ago – some scholars think it could have been even 3000
years ago)
Note: Man only knew the above for 350 years.
Earth is a sphere – Isaiah 40:22/Air has weight – Job 28:25/
Gravity – Job 26:7, Job 38: 31-33/Winds blow in cyclones, Eccl 1:6

Documents that Prove Bible is True

Gilgamesh Epic, The Sumerian King List, Mari Tablets, Babylonian Chronicles

Archealogical Evidence (Still adding to this list today- it hasn’t stopped)
Excavations of Ur, Location of Zoar, Ziggurats and the foundation of Tower of Babel

1.what is being saved?
Put simply, being saved is being forgiven of our wrongs that we've commited against God through our faith in Jesus who we believe paid the price to release us from our bondage to sin. In other words, if you died in the next minute you would go to heaven.

BUT, salvation is more than that though ... salvation isn't just a thing for the next life, it affects this life as well!

You see, salvation is the process that will change who we are through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives (who comes to live on the inside of us at conversion) into the image of Jesus. This is known as discipleship (or santification) and will continue throughout our entire physical life with the salvation process eventually ending in heaven when all sin will be removed from our very nature and we will be exactly like Jesus in mind and thought ... the final stage in the salvation process which theologians call 'glorification'.

2.what do you do to make god love you?
That's the easy part: nothing. I couldn't do anything to make anyone love me, let alone the Creator of the universe. God loves me because ... He just does. It is in His nature to love and it is something that I don't think I could ever understand. It is much the same thing with most parents ... my mum loves me even thought upon asking why she does, she can't describe why she does. How much more incomprehensible is it when God, who knows every wrong thing that we've done, still is able to love us?

I try to live a good life because it is a natuarl response to the love and grace that God has freely given to me. That doesn't make Him love me any more than He did before I got saved but it does allow Him to show me more grace than before because I am His child not because of anything that I've done, but because of what He's done for me through Jesus.

That's the beauty of grace ... it makes life unfair! We don't deserve either God's salvation or His love, yet He loves us so much that He gives both freely. When I foul up, God wants to forgive me and restore me to where I was before I fell. The only thing that stands in the way is my response to my own short-comings, such as pride and guilt ... both of which God can wash away. He is all about new beginnings.
