well, go to far down THAT rabit hole... all knowledge is flavoured by SOME type of bias... the trick is to be aware of it, and do ones best to be objective.Ahhh, but to acknowledge whether something is objective is a subjective decision in itself.

Just because I'm an atheist does not mean that I'm not open to beliefs of others as long as those beliefs don't hurt others.
Looks like you just judged fundamentalists yourself. Not all fundamentalists are unlike Christ in their walk.Also fundie's baseless hate towards their neighbour and constant judging and condemning.

Yes, I like liberal/modern christian beliefs but detest fundamentalist beliefs. Basing your moral code on the general ideas taught by Jesus of love and acceptance and doing good in the world is great. Basing your beliefs on blind faith of sometimes contradictory material that requires you to perform morally questionable acts (bombing abortion clinics, god hates [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] websites, etc) while encouraging you to not think for yourself.

Thats right. which is different to saying openness meansBeing open to something means you entertain the idea, instead of instantly finding ways to deny it.

Atheism is not a religion. Atheism is not a belief in disbelief, it is merely the absence of belief... the same way darkness is an absence of light, or cold is an absence of heat... they aren't some sort of reverse light or heat, merely an absenceatheism is a religion in itself, its a belief in unbelief. If you start every conversation inherently believing that what they are telling you is not true, then you are not open to them.
