CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd be vary careful about it if the two of you haven't even met in real life yet. Trust me on this one: the way you imagine her might be way off. The internet doesn't have much to do with real life, when you think of it. I'm just saying this as someone who was very naive about it -I've said it countless times before and I'm saying it again, since that aspect of the situation was ignored before. Maybe I missed something.....?

Well, If you get to know someone well enough on the internet and on the phone.. and both of you are open with who you are and what not... you can figure out EXACTLY who the person is. I met about 10 internet friends at a music festival a month ago... I had been talking to all of them for about a year... they were exactly what I imagined... the fit the picture of them in my mind perfectly. If you do like someone online.. I would suggest gettin to know some of their friends online too.... Thats always good.

Do be careful though. Nothing can ruin a good friendship faster than one person announcing that they have a crush on the other.
