CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I guess some say it's good to thank just to be polite... but uhhh it's also kind of being deceitful. It's giving them the impression that you are gratified but that's not the case. I get annoying forwards from people all the time... I want to ask them to stop sending them but they might get offended so I just deal with it. I'm sure not going to thank them for it though

This last week or so I've been getting non-stop spam from about 5 different people, all of whom are now on my ignore list as their accounts have probably been hacked. Every time my notifier pings, I think "woohoo! email!" and then it turns out to be junk. I'm so unloved, haha.

How gracious and merciful is our LORD!
I understand that by replying to the junk and spam emails you are confirming your e-address to people who collect and sell them, thus generating more of the same.
Even the 'sob stories' and 'must forward' are in this category

1. NEVER reply to junk mail, as CrumbsofComfort said, it confirms your email which leaves you vulnerable to...
Phishing and Pharming scams! Your personal and financial data is valuable, your IP address, your email address, bank details etc.
2. Never click a direct link, always type it into your browser if you really must. Harmless-looking links can easily be used to run a clickjacking scam where malware is downloaded onto your computer.
Anyways, the interwebz are dangerous, beware.
