June 2nd? CF Singles Awards (Discussion Thread)

This thread is just the discussion thread before the actual Awards thread is made so we don't have to search 6 pages for the actual awards ceremony!
I had this idea the other day and thought it would be a cute thing to do. I've done this before at another site so I'm basing all of my knowledge of this off that. lol
I'll start off by saying if someone doesn't want to vote, let me know, or when I PM you just let me know that you don't want to vote. No biggie Although, you may get voted for and possibly win in a category, theres not much I can do about that. Also, let me say as usual this is for fun, please don't take it personal if you don't win in a category. I'd like to do this annually so for those who don't win, better luck next time.

I can either do the voting 1 of 2 ways.
You can either post here and let me know you want to cast your vote and I will PM you the categories and you just PM them back to me with your answers.

Or, I can just PM you and ask, which I still may do for some of you if I don't see your reply at all.

Even though I have some of the categories in mind, feel free to post some ideas that I may stick in with the ones I've already thought up. I'd like to give voting a 2 week timetable give or take a few days just to get everyone who wants to vote a chance. If it looks like I've got everyones vote before 2 weeks then I'll post something about it and give updates.

May I also reccomend that you copy/paste the list I made of active Singles posters from the most recent Match maker thread?

Also, make a rule that you can't vote for the same person in multiple catagories?

This will spread the love around and *hopefully* keep people from feeling left out. Admittedly, sometimes we all just need a reminder of who is out there to vote for.

Edited to add: I realized I didnt really clarify why I may not use that rule. It's only because sometimes I think it is the same person for different categories. But we'll see. Also! Should I post the most active people in this thread?

I just know that its easy to be cliquey on here. You have your friends and people you know so you naturally want to vote for them. But its not fair to the posters who feel like no one ever notices them because of that.

I don't know. I just hate when these games turn into a list that names the same 5 people for 40 different catagories

I like the idea of posting the top two winners of each category that is selected but I probably will not put it to another vote.

Also, I'm going to minimize the list that Amber posted, because of double categories and things that don't apply, etc.

In any case, they are popular and I do like them myself. I also like that in this new list, it can include more people than, say, the more active or what other people have deemed the more "popular" posters.

I'm not sure if I was I'm working on the categories now. I think I will start the voting tomorrow on Saturday and let the voting go for a week or two. I'm flexible on that because I may get votes in faster than I think I will, or slower. So we'll see. I will of course update the thread. And I will also have a new thread for the thread ceremony.


Also, any thoughts for awards? I've made awards before from GIMP but we can throw around ideas for them.
