there is that which discerns

there is that which condemns

"he that is Spiritual, JUDGETH all things"...

so, if you esteem someone to be lower or less then you and feel you have this authority based on your feelings of self worth, then you have found the issue with yourself.

How many of us are spiritual by God's standards?

Hmmm. Tolerate all but the intolerant. Judge none but the judgmental.

'Judge not, lest ye be judged!'

My own thinking is that we have to bite the bullet with this one. There is no way we can get through life without sensitive but nevertheless rigorous discrimination between things that are good, and things that aren't. And, we are going to be judged anyway, however nervous we are about 'judging'. Judge away, is my advice, but be prepared to account for your judging, and have a rationale for your thinking at the ready.

Best wishes, Strivax.

Whatever harshness or kindness we judge with will come back upon us.

Judgement has been a much debated issue among Christians. There are many well known Biblical verses which speak negatively of judging others and these are often used to stifle Christian input on issues. The dilemma is that it seems impossible for anyone, Christian or not, to go through life without making judgements and almost all judgements we make, whether negative or positive concern the actions of others.

In reality, if we made no judgements at all, how do we tell our sons and daughters that it's bad to steal? If we discipline them should they persist in their bad behaviour, we've actually taken judgement to the next level with the imposition of punishments as a result of judgement against our own kids.

to "judge" someone means to see that person as either all good or all bad with nothing in between.
either heaven or hell with nothing in between.
also called "putting the thumbscrews on someone"
