  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes it changes... But Everyone will stand at the Great White Throne Judgement when the books are opened. And we will be judged- But thank you Jesus- We will be given eternity with our Father, and Our Savior.

I think this way- Hey, we are now- I am not going to worry about those things now. When it happens it happens.

We'll be judged, but we won't be given the punishment we deserve if we have accepted Christ as our Saviour.

But there is no equality in Heaven. Those who have done more will be rewarded more. We'll all be happy with our lots, though. There will be no jealousy over it.

I know that one day, we will be judged on account of our sins, but since Jesus already payed the price for our sin, doesn't that change?
The calvinists say that you will autmatically enter heaven, while noncalvinists and arminians say that you may not automatically enter heaven because you will be judged on everything. I believe the second way. That's what the bible says to me.

This is a core debate that can be found in the "Soteriology" forum which discusses the doctrine of salvation. All the threads are geared to various aspects of this discussion.

There is a large majority of people who hold to the calvinist viewpoint, of an automatic ticket to heaven for only believing. These people outweigh the arminian and noncalvinst people. Just because there is a large number of these people does not make me change my mind.

The calvinst churches are most Baptist (unless freewill Baptist), Lutherian, Methodist, Presbyterian, and most community nondenominational churches. Arminian churches are Church of Nazarene, Assembly of God, Salvation Army, Church of Christ, and most independent pentocostal churches. If you don't know by their doctrinal statement, just ask them. The arminian churches believe in "santification", "holiness"...those are common words use often, and not easily said.

This is a serious subject in mind opinion where I strongly believe that the calvinists are wrong in their thinking on this core subject. This is a core subject. It is not a minor argument. The calvinist people will really try to convince you that the arminian and noncalvinist(who don't want to be called arminian) are wrong.

If you go to the forum Soteriology, you can read the debates there.

No offense, but I think superdave and sioleabha's replies made better sense. I just want a short and simple reply that answer's my question. Is what you were saying talking about even if we accept Chist as our saviour, we can still suffer for our actions, even though they're forgiven by the accpetance of God's grace? I'm not talking about living in sin, but let's face it. We're all gonna sin no matter what daily.

Are you actually saying that being saved doesn't automatically get you into Heaven? Where in the Bible does it say anything remotely like that?

Even the criminal who died on the cross next to Christ is in Heaven:

Luke 23:40-43 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

This criminal had no chance to live a good life; the only thing he did was believe in Christ. Unless you don't think that Paradise is Heaven (in which case, why isn't Christ going to Heaven??), it's obvious that simply believing gets you inside the gates.
