Nah, the meaning of a church wedding is independent of tax benefits. Some people who believe in that meaning just seem to have forgotten this, which is strange. I don't understand how they can think that any form of legal marriage could harm the sanctity of marriage when the sanctity is granted by a church (according to their beliefs). There are some churches that are performing same-sex ceremonies, though, so they're the ones who should be getting yelled at (by their logic), not the government.A state wedding will have actual meaning as in it will matter come tax time. This is what will happen because of your discrimination. You will have stripped the churches of meaning. Is it any wonder that this is such a divisive issue?
