To our knowledge (note, not faith, knowledge) we must teach our young ones so they can find more knowledge, this is how we have cured nearly all plagues and diseases and this is how we will survive, faith has no place in science and science has no place in faith, religion should not be taught in science class and science should not be taught as a substitute for religion in religious classes.
What the ID people are trying to do is to put forth a different unscientific explanation which has no basis in science, it's like religious class teaching mathematics to prove that god cannot possibly exist because the odds are infinently opposed, how stupid would that be? Well infinently stupid.
Leave science to the scientists and keep the faith in religious classes. how hard is that?
