I'm not trying to be a nitpick or change the topic of the thread I just took exception to the phrase that Jesus's blood is wasted. I know he didn't mean to make a theological statement. I maybe shouldn't have said anything.

I believe that we can choose to have ourselves written off.
Your stated position is "free will." I understood @Sam81 's position to be "predestination" (the subject of a different thread).

No, you're right. Yahshua makes a blood covenant with his bride. It's not for everyone; and I would not belittle his bride as to say that his blood was wasted in the covenant.

And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.

Judgement is to say do this, or this will happen. Mentoring is to allow the person to make the right decision. You do this by saying "No!"
I'm a dad. I did a lot of both.

Agreed. This was a teaching against hypocrisy, not against exercising or rendering righteous judgments (God's own judgments according His word and His Spirit) when appropriate.

As the Lord said, the point of not having a beam in one's own eye was to be able to see clearly enough to remove the speck from the eye of one's brother, so that he might walk in the way of righteousness.

God's desire was for both guide and guided to see clearly and avoid the ditch, not for them to go their ways, the one with the beam in his eye and the other with the speck in his eye, and both of them fall into the ditch.

A good example of the importance of reading verses completely.

LOL!

This gives me a funny mental picture.

Gotta love the “pro judging others” lobby. If that’s the side you wanna represent, go for it.

It’s often the spirit and manner that Christians pass along the scripture That carries the judgement, and ruins the testimony for Christ among unbelievers.

For example, to start a thread in a Christian forum with the express purpose of defending the right to judge others, is looking at this concept and scriptures in a way that is not conducive to growth, edification and drawing the lost to Christ.

the “we get to judge” lobby of Christians treat judgement Of others like a right they have. In reality, the word—by itself—conveys MORE than scriptural discernment and admonishing believers in love. That’s why it’s unwise to use the word and defend your “right” to judge. It’s a low hanging fruit for intellectuals in the faith to feel superior but using the term is a mistake in my opinion.

What does set apart mean to you? Can one be of the world and be set apart? How can we tell the difference without judgement?
