A strange court controversy out of Texas, where a judge interrupted jurors deciding a defendant's fate in a sex-trafficking case and urged them not to convict. Twice. Later, state district judge Jack Robison explained that God told him to do so, reports the Austin American-Statesman. And the kicker: The jury ignored him and convicted anyway.

This judge thinks God told this judge not to convict on a sex-trafficking case? My thoughts are that this judge shouldn't be on the bench if he's going to allow his personal Christian beliefs to interfere with his responsibilities as a judge. If he can't uphold the law and convict dangerous criminals because of what he thinks God told him not to convict then he shouldn't be allowed to be a judge.

I think his position has gotten to his head. He once had a grandfather jailed (wanted 30 days) because the old man called him a fool in the bathroom. Now, he speaks to God nonchalantly in the courtroom about cases? Eh, no.

It's definitely grounds for the judge to have a psychiatric evaluation.
