Judge finds Faith Academy (Alabama) counselor guilty for failing to report potential child sexual abuse by coach

Carrie Meredith, a guidance counselor for Faith Academy on Tanner Williams Road in West Mobile, was charged last month by the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, who alleged she had reasonable suspicion there was inappropriate conduct between soccer coach Jonathan Sauers, 44, and the female student.

Sauers was arrested in March 2023 for sexual contact with a student by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. Meredith was accused of learning about the inappropriate relationship a month earlier, being warned of pictures and “d*ck pics” sent from Sauers to the victim via Snapchat.
