Federal judges are out of control. Obama's DACA plan was most likely illegal to start with, as Congress never passed any DACA law.

Then why didn't Congress (or anyone else) challenge Obama's plan in court?

Y'all had since 2012; whining about it now doesn't really accomplish much.

Did you miss Donald's televised meeting? He does want a new DACA law, maybe, but he wants to tie it to his wall, so to speak.

Trump's Remarkable Immigration Meeting

The president convened a bipartisan group of more than two dozen members of the House and Senate in the Roosevelt Room to discuss a possible resolution for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program—the Obama-era protections for 700,000 young immigrants that Trump has said will end in March without congressional action.

Yet over nearly an hour, and with television cameras running, Trump took nearly every conceivable position in the debate: He backed a “clean” bill to extend DACA, protect the so-called “Dreamers,” and bolster border security, absent the more controversial immigration measures conservatives want; then, he said he’d “take the heat” for a more comprehensive immigration overhaul along the lines of what Trump had denounced as a candidate in 2016; later, he demanded that Congress fund the southern border wall as part of the initial DACA deal, reinserting the wrench that has held up the immigration talks for weeks.

Finally, Trump said he’d sign whatever immigration bill Congress could send him. “I’m not saying I want this or I want that. I will sign it,” he told the group.

There is already a thread - with the video of the meeting! Trump's DACA "Meeting of Love" - @wing2000

Nevertheless, my point remains that DACA has never been overturned in any court of law, therefore the notion that it's suddenly "illegal" sounds like a lot of crying in one's beer to me.

Didn't they? I feel like it was challenged quite a bit.

A lot of flailing and frothing in front of the cameras, but there was only one actual lawsuit regarding DACA back in 2012 that made it as far as the Fifth Circuit. It was dismissed due to lack of standing by the plaintiff.

Now, I grant you, this means that the Courts have never actually ruled on its Constitutionality, but lacking such a ruling in spite of six years, I'm certainly not going to take a bunch of armchair Scalias as gospel...
