Any Japanese music fans? If so, what bands/artists do you like? I like Ayumi Hamasaki, Morning Musume, Chihiro Onitsuka, and that's about it.

It's sort of frustrating since none of my friends like their music.....oh well..lol

I like Ayumi Hamasaki...she's techno, and I haven't really heard much else as far as Japanese rock and pop. I do like that Japanese rock band that does covers of Queen though...LOL they're fantastic.

Current most listened to are ZONE and day after tomorrow and KOTOKO. Since SMAP usually does such a great performance at the Kouhaku Utagassen, I tend to listen to their songs around New Year's (currently listening to Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana - single version, which they sang at the last Kouhaku Utagassen). I also have a lot of Kuraki Mai's songs. L'arc~en~ciel is good too. Oh, and can't forget Porno Graffitti! I always sing Blurry Eyes when I go to Karaoke. I also listen to others, usually anything that's high on the Oricon charts.

Nice to see some JPop/JRock fans on here...

I'm a big fan of JRock and Visual Kei... mainly Dir en grey, Nightmare, Vidoll, baroque, +D'espairsRay+, Gullet, Plastic Tree, DOREMIdan, EllDorado, deadman, Merry, AURORA, Malice Mizer, Gackt, Miyavi, and a ton more, especially VK indies bands. Anyone else here like any of those bands I listed, or bands like em? ;

I've only heard of Dir en grey and Gackt from that list of yours. I'm more Jpop than Jrock in general.

Onitsuka if i remember the little amount of japanese that i had looked at, then that means something like demon hunter. *shrug* hooray for fluffing threads...

Nope. The kanji for oni ( 鬼 ) does mean demon, but tsuka ( 束 ) meaning is more like bundle. Hunter is karyudo ( 狩人 ). In any case, Onitsuka is just her name.

well that shows u how much knowledge i retain over time. Ive heard from alot of places that oni is either demon or ogre. Not that i doubt u or anything.
