Jonah chapter 4

I'm curious to find out if throughout church history, the lesson I see in Jonah, particularly the fourth chapter, has ever been practically applied. There was a prophecy of judgment against Nineveh, and the city was spared. Does anyone know of a subsequent occasion which would qualify?

Are you asking if there are any examples of cities (or states/provinces, or countries) that were saved from judgement by repentance and prayer? If so I would suggest that some of the battles against Muslim invasion may qualify. Take a look at the Battle of Lepanto.
