Three men lived on a secluded island, where they had chosen to dedicate their lives to meditation and solitude in order to grow as close to God as possible.
A strict preacher heard that they had reached enlightenment and decided to pay them a visit, feeling skeptical. They were very happy to meet him and discuss the Lord. When he asked them how they remained faithful and close to God, they replied, "We simply pray, 'You are three and so are we' every day."
"Oh, no, there is so much you're leaving out to be true Christians!" the man said, so he quickly tried to teach them everything he knew about the right way to practice Christianity. He read to them from Scripture and reinterpreted it for them, urged them to repent, and taught them longer and more mainstream prayers. The monks were surprised that their original methods were seen as unsatisfactory, but they obliged and then saw him off later that day.
The boat was already several yards from shore when the preacher suddenly turned to see the three monks running across the top of the water. They stopped by the boat, panting, and said, "Wait, how does that confessional one start again?"
