Indeed, I like both Walton and Heiser a lot, at least from a cultural scholarship perspective but not quite as full members in my Doctrinal Country Club

Heiser's Youtube video on the basics of gospel is great, citing Naaman as a simple model that seems to cut through a lot of overly-complicated understandings of soteriology.
