Yes, thanks for asking. I don't think anyone really wants Obama, look, only 83 pro obama posts in the thread. I think many people are very upset with bush and are going against anything Republican, much like in 2006.

Oh yeah...the old guy that thinks the American economy has "strong" "fundamentals"...
Well, that's certainly not true. Democrats use scare tactics every campaign. Such as the following from you[So if McCain and Palin are elected then we're going to have a thermonuclear war and it will be the end of the world as we know it.
This from the people that pillory Republicans for using scare tactics.]
Well, traditionally, it is the right-wing who use scare tactics.
Add to that the ever present fear injected in the campaigns the fear that Republicans are going to take away Social Security. A cartoon of Bush pushing an old lady in a wheelchair down the stairs comes to mind. Don't forget the race fears such as Democrats promising us that if Republicans win, black churches will burn. And this isn't new. Don't forget the LBJ ads purporting the inevitability of nuclear war if Goldwater won.Only, this time the difference is, there are REAL things to be scared of.
bye bye government of the people, for the people.
so long healthcare, and social security.
adios safety.
aufwiedersehen affordable food.

Interesting thing is that Obama is the one that has voted 90 some odd percent with his party while McCain has crossed party lines more than any other. Who cares more about party again?Goldwater! Yes, please! Can we have Goldwater back now? Or Nelson Rockefeller? Or Thomas Dewey? Or William F. Buckley? Or even 2000McCain? Anybody who actually cares about Country ahead of Party?
I'll vote for Bob Dole now. Seriously. Can we please have Bob Dole back?
Interesting thing is that Obama is the one that has voted 90 some odd percent with his party while McCain has crossed party lines more than any other...
That 90%, is that the number of time McCain has voted with his party? If so, it could only be considered honestly if the same was posted for obama. Do you happen to know what the percentage is for Obama? I don't have the number, but my guess would be that it is roughly the same and most likely higher as obama rarely if ever has crossed party lines.
Take this idea one step further, if obama was president, what percentage of the time would you prefer other dems vote with him? What percentage should they vote against him?
But McCain has drank the Kool-Aid and crossed back, basically crawled back, to the Dark Side of politics. I.e., in the last three years or so he has reversed himself on nearly every important major issue in order to court the right wing base. Right now, McCain = 90 per cent Bush.
Apparently, Obama doesn't see himself as any kind of savior either. While McCain is in Washington doing his job as a Senator trying to save us from disaster, Obama is down in Mississippi twiddling his thumbs.I don't see Obama as some divinely annointed Savior of the Nation.

Last I heard, he was shamed into changing his mind and decided to go to Washington. So he may have a chance to cast his vote after all. One has to wonder why Obama always has to be shamed into doing the right thingI believe, based on the rules of the senate, Obama will not be allow Obama to vote present from Mississippi.
I don't see Obama as some divinely annointed Savior of the Nation.
I see him as the only one in position now to save us all from John McCain and Sarah Palin and the legacy of Bush/Cheney/Rove.
McCain has never been a pal of George Bush...
...Palin is a breath of fresh air...
...Obama is a politician as thick as thieves as any from the Chicago "the highest taxes in America" corrupt culture.
