Whether or not John Hagee is hateful is literally a matter of perspective. To be sure, he does some good things. He is a virulent opponent of anti-semitism (as all Christians should be). So if you're ethnically Jewish, John Hagee must sound really good. Of course if you happen to be a Palestinian, you might not appreciate Pastor Hagee's preaching on why you have no right to live in your father's and grandfather's home because of 2000+ year old history, or his claim that you are an enemy of God because of where you happen to live. I suppose it must be even worse if you happen to be a Palestinian Christian (yes, there are quite a few of them).

And then there's Pastor Hagee's more heretical views. John Hagee believes that Jews can be saved even if they do not confess Jesus Christ as their Lord. And he has preached that Jesus will return in 2007 (but with only seven months to go on that one, maybe he's quieted down on this). It would be advisable to stay away from Pastor Hagee's ministry.

Every one seems hateful to someone else. While we are to do everything we can to live in peace with others, we must understand that isn't always possible.

As far as "heretical views", study them for yourself so that you can see solid teaching and accept that while discarding the rest.

If we ignored everyone we didn't see 100% eye to eye with who would we fellowship with...let alone just read their book or listen to a cd or podcast etc?

OF course, looking at your age I would also suggest getting your parents input and if they are not beleivers then also ask a youth pastor or another mature beleiver near you that can sit down and study the issues in the Bible with you.

I have heard that before, do you have the exact words and when and where they are said concerning the salvation of Jews?

i don't think he's very hateful.

Nor do I. He is passionate about what he believes and I respect that. I don't think everyone can agree with any preacher %100 of the time, but as far as preachers go I think Hagee is very well read and very sincere.

To be totally honest, I don't know a single theologian, preacher or teacher who is 100% correct 100% of the time, except Jesus Christ.

All you can do is listen to what he preaches and check it against what is in the Bible. If they don't mesh, reject it.

God Bless

Till all are one.

Well, and me ... when we all get to heaven you guys will all agree with me and Jesus ;) :p

Just kidding ... that is a point that is very important I think. I long ago made Acts 17:10-11 one of my life application verses. What was so respected about the Bereans? Not just that they eagerly attended the apostle's teachings, but that they daily checked the Scriptures to see that those things were true.

“The Jewish people have a relationship to God through the law of God as given through Moses,” Hagee said. “I believe that every Gentile person can only come to God through the cross of Christ. I believe that every Jewish person who lives in the light of the Torah, which is the word of God, has a relationship with God and will come to redemption. “The law of Moses is sufficient enough to bring a person into the knowledge of God until God gives him a greater revelation. And God has not,” said Hagee.

What is the point of God choosing Israel? Is it not to glorify Himself; is it not to display His awesome mercies, and incomprable power to win Himself worship through Israel's history?
With this being so, it follows that blessing and favoring Israel on our part is good because it allows us to participate in God's provision for Israel TO HIS GLORY. Now, if His glory is our--and Hagee's--aim, then by no means should we allow a thimble and forbid an ocean like this man. How can he commit such a crime against the Gospel; against the grace of God? This doctrine is among the worst forms of idolatry.

[Ye] fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

I enjoy listening to John Hagee. Here's my problem with him. Today he was preaching against smoking cigarettes and Alcohol. Which is fine.

However, John Hagee is very obese, or as the bible calls it gluttony. Almost everywhere in scripture that alcohol is mentioned. You will find gluttony right there with it.

Obesity is the second highest cause of preventable deaths in the united states. Smoking is the number one killer.

John Hagee needs to practice what he preaches or stay silent on subjects he's guilty of.

Obesity, The one sin you cannot hide

John Hagee said:
The law of Moses is sufficient enough to bring a person into the knowledge of God until God gives him a greater revelation. And God has not

The point of the law was to show the Jews that they needed a Messiah. Jesus said that it was impossible to keep every part of the law (that was the point) and that if you broke any part of the law you have broken the entire law.

Jesus said he had come to fulfill the law.

Jesus performed many miracles for the Jews to establish who he was.

The message to the Jews was the same message to the gentiles - repent and believe in Jesus.

What is the point of God choosing Israel?

God chose to redeem man through the sacrifice of one (his son Jesus). The Jews were the smallest group and God picked them to be blessed and then bless the whole world through them (Jesus).

Today he was preaching against smoking cigarettes and Alcohol. Which is fine.

However, John Hagee is very obese, or as the bible calls it gluttony.

Matthew 7:1-5 come to mind:

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
There is nothing wrong with alcohol consumption. There -is- something wrong with drunkenness.
