Jesus said the scriptures say we are Gods too.
The was with Yahweh like I was with my Dad and the word was God like I am Johnson and so are my relatives.
John 1
The Word Became Flesh
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
Carey,
If you mean to say that Jesus is divine like the Father then I would agree. The Father and the Son are not Identical but are God. However Jesus is divine.
It comes from Psalms 82 quoted by Jesus in John 10.
god also means judge
The context is clear what kind of god we can be. God's messengers act for God but die like men.A Psalm of Asaph.
1God has taken his place in the divine council;
in the midst of the gods he holds judgement:
2‘How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked?
Selah
3Give justice to the weak and the orphan;
maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.
4Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.’
5They have neither knowledge nor understanding,
they walk around in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6I say, ‘You are gods,
children of the Most High, all of you;
7nevertheless, you shall die like mortals,
and fall like any prince.’*
8Rise up, O God, judge the earth;
for all the nations belong to you!
As to actually being the substance of God one must know what it is to be begotten.
"(esp. of a male parent) to procreate or generate (offspring)".
We are all sons and daughters of God aka children. Jesus was the only begotten Son of God. This is why He is God Manifest unlike a creation. God in the context of the Father and Son are to be divine.
The only begotten Son Jesus Christ is quite literally the only natural child of God that is God's anointed.
