  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow. I can't believe how low people go with this personal stuff. It is one thing to critique his job? Personal stuff? not so much. It just reeks of desperation.

On one hand i agree.
I know some pretty smart alcoholics.

On the other hand - when ppl are having affairs - and continue to have them - i find that anyone willing to hurt their own - may have no qualms of hurting others.

Thats not an absolute - since Hitler was supposedly faithful.
But even being faithful to his wife - he was still very liberal when it came to killing the disabled and babies. [proponent for abortions]

I personally don't consider Boehner's alcohol problem to be any more of a handicap in doing his job than Harry Reid's spite, Nancy Pelosi's bubbleheadedness, or Obama's belief that he's a lot smarter than he actually is.

(Actually, I think Obama would work out quite well as a professor of liberal politics at an eastern community college somewhere; anything above that, and he's in over his head. He certainly doesn't have the temperament or qualifications or experience needed to be president of the United States, and that's fer dern sure.)

I didnt know you hated us eastern folk so much. :p

But he isnt qualified. I agree.
He even said he wasnt qualified and he was still voted in... and his fruits show he definitely wasnt qualified.

Maybe he was like that other paragon of progressive virtue, Bill Clinton, and he didn't inhale.

And Obama did inhale. :D

I guess these problems do have a connection.

Please keep in mind, the only reason why Republicans have control of the House is their gerrymandering of districts.

Err--both Dems and Repubs gerrymander. Last Dem gerrymander, in one house the district line went right through the house! Talk about crazy! So don't pretend that one party is squeaky clean while the other plays dirty. Both parties take advantage of gerrymandering--which is just strengthening the districts.

The United States already had its credit rating downgraded because of John Boehner's bad leadership with the last debt ceiling crisis. .

No, according to S&P (who did the downgrade) the reason was because there was no evidence of spending cuts (and we know that Obama is the one who has been presiding at increasing the debt ceiling--what he called "unpatriotic" in 2006.

Michie, it happens. Remember how Bush was so hated? They even made a movie claiming that he was a drunk in the White House when he quit years back. He was smeared "six ways to Sunday". And five years into another president's term, Bush was still being blamed for things that were even obviously chronologically false. It happens. It's called politics.

Sad really.

What? No one want to accuse Obama for his drug problem? At least he admitted to one in his book--both marijuana and codeine that was supposedly so bad that it made his grades go south (at least according to Obama's book). Did he stop? (Well let's leave that out and instead note that he was buying drugs and "partying" as a Senator according to witnesses--which have since disappeared because of various reasons.)

Pot meet kettle.

Kakugawa was part of the infamous group of stoners that made up Obama’s high school social. They called themselves the “Choom Gang,” and young Barry was one of the most enthusiastic participants in the group. What is known is that Kakugawa’s downward spiral is closely tied to alcohol and drug problems. He’s been in and out of jail several times for possessing and dealing cocaine, and was homeless at one time.

That's different. Obama's a Kenyan Muslim Socialist. So they have to hold him to a higher standard than the Good White Christian Speaker.

Not necessarily. But having zero experience for the office you hold, being less than completely up front about your background, and holding viewpoints that are, at the very least, anti-American, do.

Obama has no qualifications to be president of the United States. He never did.

Obama has no qualifications to be president of the United States. He never did.

He was at least thirty-five years old, a natural born citizen of the United States, and had been a resident of the United States for fourteen years.

That's all the qualification that's needed to be President of the United States per Article II of the Constitution.

Most of them at least had some experience doing something..... holding an office (one term in the Senate doesn't really count), running a business, something. All Obama ever did was go to school, work as a low-grade professor, and shake down the taxpayers as a "community organizer".

Tallguy88 said:

No. It's a reference to his academic and financial records, which he has still refused to release after five years in office. I suspect he has something to hide, and ergo he never will.

Anything that he absorbed from "Reverend" ("God **** America") Wright; his refusal to place his hand over his heart during the national anthem; his remarks about America being no better than any other country; his flirtations with deviants and Communists, his kowtowing to our enemies and his flippant disregard of our allies, and anything that he absorbed from his wife, Michelle ("The first time I've ever been proud of my country", "All of this for a damn flag") Angry Woman Obama.

Yes. And José Manuel Rodriguez Martinez, born in El Paso, Texas, in 1980, and a resident of Denton, Texas, where he has worked as a high school janitor for the last seventeen years because he is unable to speak a word of English, is just as eligible to run for president in 2016 as Obama was in 2008.

But that doesn't make him the best candidate.

You may be "on" to something there. (At least Wayne Allen Root, who was supposedly in the same Political Science class that Obama was in at Columbia University, seems to think those records Obama had sealed might explain some of the questions and that's why the records will never be released. May have something to do with Obama, according to his own biography for his first book, claiming to be a tad mysterious and "special".)

Why does anybody need to see Obama's academic record? That's confidential information. Do you want to see his medical history too?

It's not just the academic record (although somehow the idea of him at least taking some courses in economics might give some a little comfort--it's not like he has any experience working or making a payroll.) It's the fact that Obama claimed that he was poor and yet he went to Ivy League Colleges half a continent away from his home (couldn't exactly live at home to cut down on expenses) when he admitted to getting poor grades because he was smoking marijuana and hanging out with radicals and revolutionaries. (Read his book which was written afterward.) The question is "how in the world was that even possible?" Got to have spectacular grades to get into those schools (and he said that he didn't--read his book again) and the schools themselves are quite expensive and as you folks on the Eastcoast tell us, just living in New York or Massachusetts is expensive beyond belief.

If the records were open, like they are with other presidents, we'd know how that trick was done.
